Remove the forehead / cover cap

two fingers to gently squeeze the sides together
and then pulling the cover cap off.
Make sure that the
sensor tip

as well as
the ear canal are clean.
As the ear canal is
slightly curved, pull the
ear gently up and back
before inserting the sensor tip

so that the sen-
sor tip

can be orientated directly towards the
eardrum.
Positioning infants under
twelve months of age:
Place the infant on their
side so that one ear
faces upwards.
Gently pull the ear back
before carefully inserting
the sensor tip
1
into the ear.
Positioning infants over
twelve months of age:
Stand slightly to the side
behind the infant.
