Why Simplicity Snow Blower engine fails to start?
    • V
      Vincent SanchezAug 11, 2025
Several factors can cause the engine to fail to start. It could be due to the key being in the OFF position (set it to ON), failure to prime a cold engine (press the primer button twice and restart), the fuel shut-off valve being in the CLOSED position (turn it to OPEN), the unit being out of fuel (fill the tank), the choke being turned to OPEN/RUN with a cold engine (turn the choke to CLOSED/START and set the throttle to FAST), or the engine being flooded (move the choke to OPEN/RUN, move the throttle to FAST, and crank until the engine starts). In case of no spark, it is best to consult an authorized dealer.

What to do if Simplicity 1695856 unit fails to discharge snow?
    • K
      Katelyn VaughnAug 17, 2025
If your snowthrower isn't discharging snow, several issues could be the cause. The auger drive belt might be loose or damaged, it is best to consult an authorized dealer. The auger control cable may not be adjusted correctly, so adjust the auger control cable following the Maintenance section of the manual. A broken shear pin or bolt can also be the culprit, replace it referring to the Maintenance section of this manual, or consult an authorized dealer. Also, the discharge chute could be clogged, in this case, stop the engine immediately and use the clean-out tool to clear it, also clean inside of the auger housing. Finally, a foreign object might be lodged in the auger, in this case, stop the engine immediately and use the clean-out tool to remove the object.

      Bethany SotoAug 23, 2025
If your engine is starting hard or running poorly, consider these possibilities: there might be water or old fuel in the fuel tank (drain the tank and fill with fresh fuel, disposing of the old fuel properly), the fuel cap vent might be blocked (clear the vent). For issues related to the spark plug, it is best to consult an authorized dealer.

    • B
      Brian ChangSep 3, 2025
If the auger does not stop within 5 seconds after releasing the right control lever, it could be because the Free Hand control is active (release both auger control and Free Hand control). Alternatively, the auger drive belt or belt guide may be out of adjustment, it is best to consult an authorized dealer.
