6.1
GENERAL
NOTE:
This
instrument
must
be
serviced
by
qualified
personnel.
To
aid
in
troubleshooting
a
schematic
dia-
gram
is
enclosed.
The
replacement
parts
list
(Table
6-1)
describes
the
components
and
refers
to
Simpson
part
numbers.
Reference
Symbol
numbers
correlate
the
components
shown
on
the
schematic
diagram
with
the
parts
list.
6.1.1
The
following
information
is
provided
as
an
adjunct
to
the
overall
text
contained
in
this
manual
and
should
be
read
and
understood
thoroughly
prior
to
ordering
replacement
parts
for
the
Instrument.
6.2
REMOVING
THE
INSTRUMENT
CASE
6.2.1
To
gain
access
to
the
inside
of
the
Instrument
panel,
first;
de-energize
and
disconnect
the
test
leads,
and
remove
the
cover
from
the
battery
compartment,
then
remove
the
four
case-fastening
screws.
Second;
after
removing
the
screws,
lift
the
case
from
the
panel.
NOTE:
When
replacing
the
case,
make
certain
that
the
wires
leading
to
the
battery
compartment
are
seated
in
their
respective
slots
within
the
com-
partment
wall.
This
will
prevent
damage
to
the
wire
insulation
during
mating
of
panel
and
case.
