To Operate the Trimmer Mechanism
To throw knife out of action, press lever A2,
Fig. 27 and move knife driving arm B2 as far back as
it will go.
To throw knife into action, move knife driving
arm B2 forward until it snaps into place.

To Time the Trimmer Mechanism
(Machine 236W104 Only)
Knife C2, Fig. 27 should be timed so that it
is at its most forward position (toward the operator and
1/32 inch in front of needle) when needle bar is at its
lowest position.

To time knife, remove arm top cover and gear
cover plate. Then loosen gear set screws D2, Fig. 28
and rotate gear on its shaft until correct timing of knife
is obtained. Tighten set screws D2, then replace gear
cover plate and arm top cover.
To Adjust the Edge Guide
Edge guide E2, Fig. 27 can be adjusted so
that the knife will trim the edge of the under ply from
.015 inch to 1/8 inch under the edge of upper ply.
To adjust, loosen two screws F2, Fig. 27 and
move edge guide bracket as required. Then tighten
screws F2.
The edge guide should be set at a height that
will permit knife to pass freely under it with edge
guide lightly touching top of knife.
To adjust, loosen'two screws G2, Fig. 27 and
raise or lower guide bracket as required. Then tighten
screws G2.
To disengage edge guide, raise lifting pin H2,
Fig. 27 until it locks in place.
To engage edge guide, pull plunger J2 thereby
releasing guide and returning it to its engaged position.
To Regulate Tension on Trimmer Motor Belt
(Machine 236W112 Only)
Tension on belt should be only heavy enough
to keep belt from slipping.
To adjust, remove' arm back cover, loosen set
screw L, Fig. 34 and turn screw M until correct belt
tension is obtained. Then tighten screw L.

plunger L2, Fig. 29.
To throw knife into action, press lever M2
until plunger snaps into position.
To Time the Trimmer Mechanism
(Machine 236W105 Only)
Knife K2, Fig. 29 should be timed so that it
is at its most forward position (toward the operator and
1/32 inch in front of the needle) when needle bar is at
its lowest position.
