Singer 252 - Needle Thread Take-Up and Needle Bar Connecting Link

Removal :

1) Remov e D D an c R .
2) Remove r eIa,nin g ring A.
3) Remove screw B. Th is screw Is left hand thr eaded.
4) Remove thread lake -up assembly C.
5) If ii is necessary lo ·remove con nect i ng li nk D. lhen remove lirsl D
6) loo s en s crew E with a mini mum of 2 turns .
7) Remove hi nge stud F.
8) Remo ve connect i ng li nk D and connect ing stud G.
9) If it is necessary lo remove thread take -up lever l ink hi nge stud H , remove fi rs1. U
10) Loosen screw J .
I 1) Remove hi nge stud H.
Caution on reassembly:
a) The Ila! on the col l ar of lhe hi nge slud F should be para ll el to the head of screw E belore it
is ti ghtened .
b) Screw J should be ti ghtened only alter complete reassemb ly of connect i ng link O and thread
take-up C, check ing lhal lhe un it moves freely .
Nole: Observe adjustments D and D if these have been removed .
