Overview

This document is a user manual for the ŠKODA Enyaq iV, an electric vehicle. It covers car control, battery charging, and emergency situations.

Car Control

Function Description: The ŠKODA Enyaq iV is an electric vehicle with a single gear, operating like an automatic gearbox. It features a high torque, making it quick and aggressive in acceleration compared to combustion vehicles. The vehicle utilizes recuperation, which is the recovery of electric power back into the battery via the electric motor, and is also activated when the brake pedal is pressed. This results in a different brake pedal response and vehicle braking feel compared to internal combustion engines.

Usage Features:

  • Starting the Vehicle:
    1. Press the brake pedal (left pedal).
    2. Push the Start/Stop button next to the gear lever.
    3. Move the gear lever to D (Drive).
    4. Release the brake pedal and slowly press the accelerator pedal.
  • Driving Modes:
    • R (REVERSE): For reversing the vehicle backwards.
    • N (NEUTRAL): Motor disconnected, allowing the vehicle to glide.
    • D (DRIVE): For driving forward.
    • B (BRAKE): The strongest level of recuperation, where the vehicle brakes intensively using the engine.
    • The gear lever should only be moved when the vehicle is stationary and the brake pedal is pressed.
  • Parking:
    • After stopping the car, press the brake pedal and push the electronic parking brake button “P”.
  • Range Indicator:
    • Visible on the dashboard, showing values in kilometers.
    • Constantly recalculated based on current energy consumption.
    • An additional indicator shows the amount of energy in the battery, which decreases as it discharges.
    • Warning Signals:
      • At 50 km range: Vehicle emits a warning signal; driver should look for a recharging source.
      • At reserve level (last 10–20 km): Battery capacity is low.
      • At 0 km: Battery is depleted, vehicle stops and remains immobile.
    • Drivers should always monitor the range indicator and plan trips carefully.

Battery Charging

Function Description: The vehicle can be charged via AC (Alternating Current) or DC (Direct Current) charging methods. Recuperation also contributes to battery charging by recovering electric power during braking.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • AC Charging (Most Convenient):
    • Maximum charging rate: 7.2 kWh (if charging station permits).
    • Charging standard: Mennekes/Type2.
  • DC Fast Charging:
    • Charging takes place via 40 kWh direct current.
    • Can fully charge a discharged battery in up to an hour.
    • Charging standard: CCS with Combo II connector (European standard).

Usage Features:

  • Charging Location: The charging socket is located at the rear of the vehicle, above the right rear wheel.
  • Charging Process:
    1. Press the socket cover inwards to open it.
    2. Open the cover and insert the appropriate cable plug.
    3. Follow the steps displayed on the charging station.
    4. Charging starts automatically, indicated by a small green light flashing.
  • Charging Cable: For public AC charging (e.g., ČEZ or PRE stations), the vehicle is equipped with a charging cable located in the trunk. For DC fast charging, the station is always equipped with a charging cable.
  • Charging Time Display: The time required to fully charge the battery is displayed on the dashboard and continuously updated.
  • Terminating Charging Early:
    • Press the unlock button on the driver's doors twice. This releases the lock securing the charging cable, allowing it to be disconnected.
  • Troubleshooting Charging Issues:
    • If the charging cable cannot be pulled out, contact the Uniqway Infoline at +420 222 266 244.
    • If the issue cannot be resolved, contact the charging station's hotline (number shown on the station).

Emergency Situations

Function Description: This section outlines procedures for various emergency scenarios, including short range, battery discharge, accidents, and defects.

Usage Features:

  • Short Range Warnings:
    • First warning at 20 km remaining range.
    • Another warning when battery power reaches the reserve level (last 10–20 km).
  • Battery Discharged:
    • Vehicle warns the driver at 500 m before full discharge.
    • If charging is not possible, find a safe parking place.
    • When fully discharged, the vehicle stops and becomes immobile.
    • Emergency Mode: In major emergencies, the vehicle can be reactivated in "Emergency mode" to drive a few dozen meters at minimum speed for safe parking. This mode is not recommended for general use and should only be used when there is a risk to safety.
    • Towing: If the battery is fully discharged, the vehicle must be hauled away and not towed, even for a short distance, as the motor may ignite and cause irreparable damage due to lack of cooling. Contact Uniqway Infoline.
  • Accident (Vehicle Mobile, Minor Damage):
    • Contact Uniqway Infoline at +420 222 266 244.
    • If the vehicle can be driven safely (key parts undamaged, lights on, no risk to safety), the driver may continue. Minor damage includes paint abrasion or small dents.
  • Accident (Vehicle Immobile):
    • Contact Uniqway Infoline at +420 222 266 244.
  • Defect:
    • The vehicle reports faults on the dashboard.
    • Contact Uniqway Infoline at +420 222 266 244.
    • If the fault is not related to the vehicle's drive (battery, high-voltage devices, electric motor) and does not obstruct driving, contact your service partner to report the defect and arrange a service visit.
  • Safety (High-Voltage System):
    • All contacts in the high-voltage system are protected against contact during operation and are secured/detached from the body. Contact without tools is impossible.
  • Emergency Contacts:
    • For accidents and defects where the vehicle is immobile, always contact Uniqway Infoline at +420 222 266 244.

Maintenance Features:

  • Charging Station Restart (Emergency): In emergency cases where the hotline cannot be reached, the charging station may be restarted by switching the red emergency button on and off. Before leaving, ensure the button is in the "ON" position and the station is operational.
