Overview

The ReFlex Salad and Pizza Preparation Fridge is a commercial refrigeration unit designed for food preparation and storage, specifically for salads and pizzas. It is manufactured by SKOPE, a company specializing in refrigeration products.

Function Description

This appliance serves as a refrigerated workstation, combining cold storage with a preparation area. It is designed to maintain perishable food products at safe temperatures while providing convenient access for assembly. The unit features a top section with openings for GN 1/3 -100mm deep food preparation pans and pan dividers, allowing for organized storage of ingredients. A hinged cover is provided to close over the pan area when not in use, helping to maintain temperature and hygiene. The main cabinet below offers additional refrigerated storage with adjustable shelves.

Important Technical Specifications

The refrigeration system utilizes flammable R290 refrigerant, requiring servicing by qualified personnel only. The cabinet is designed to operate within specific climatic classes, with corresponding ambient temperature and relative humidity ranges:

  • Climate Class 3: 25°C ambient temperature, 60% relative humidity.
  • Climate Class 4: 30°C ambient temperature, 55% relative humidity.
  • Climate Class 5: 40°C ambient temperature, 40% relative humidity.
  • Climate Class 7 (Tropical): 35°C ambient temperature, 75% relative humidity. The maximum operating ambient temperature for Salad and Pizza cabinets is 40°C. Each shelf has a maximum load capacity of 20kg. The unit requires specific ventilation clearances: 190mm (salad) and 420mm (pizza) above for cover opening, and no side, behind, or below clearance required when operated under recommended conditions. The appliance operates on a specified voltage, which can be found on the cabinet rating label.

Usage Features

  • Food Preparation Pans and Cover: The top section is equipped with GN 1/3 -100mm deep food preparation pans and dividers. It is crucial for pans to be in place to assist with air circulation, and dividers should be used to eliminate gaps between pans. The hinged cover must remain closed when not in use to maintain performance; leaving it open for more than 4 hours at recommended operating temperature will compromise the chiller's efficiency.
  • Adjustable Shelves: The cabinet includes shelves held by four clips, which can be positioned at different heights to accommodate various product sizes.
  • Loading Product: Before loading, the cabinet should be allowed to cool down to the desired storage temperature. Guidelines for loading include leaving a 25mm space between product and the back of the cabinet interior for internal airflow, not exceeding load limit indicators, not overloading shelves (20kg max), removing product if shelves flex, preventing product from overhanging shelves, and not loading product directly on the cabinet floor.
  • Door Locks: The cabinet is fitted with key locks for security, with a supplied key.
  • Electronic Controller: An electronic controller manages the internal temperature, signals alarms, and records operational information. The internal temperature is factory set for perishable product. Users can customize settings and view historical data by downloading the SKOPE-connect app (available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store) and connecting via Bluetooth® wireless technology.
  • Interior Lights: The interior lights operate automatically based on usage.

Maintenance Features

  • Cleaning Before First Use: The cabinet interior and food contact surfaces (including the worktop) must be thoroughly cleaned and sanitised before initial use. The cabinet should be unplugged, and only standard stainless steel cleaners suitable for food preparation areas should be used. The exterior can also be cleaned as instructed.
  • Routine Cleaning:
    • Safety First: Always unplug the cabinet from the power supply before cleaning.
    • Exterior and Interior: Wipe the outside with a damp cloth and the inside with standard stainless steel cleaners. Avoid abrasive, corrosive, or solvent-based cleaners on the door exterior to prevent damage to the protective coating. Keep moisture away from electrical parts.
    • Food Preparation Pans and Air Diffuser Panels: These components can be easily lifted for cleaning.
    • Condenser Coil and Air Filter: SKOPE strongly recommends monthly cleaning of the condenser coil and air filter.
      1. Filter Removal: Unplug the cabinet. The filter is located behind the unit bottom grille and attached by magnets; remove it.
      2. Filter Cleaning: Clean the filter with a vacuum cleaner, wash with cold water, and shake off excess water. Do NOT use hot water, blow-dry, or place in a dishwasher. Replace if necessary.
      3. Condenser Coil Cleaning: With the cabinet unplugged and filter removed, brush the condenser coil with a soft brush to remove dust and fluff. Do NOT use hard or sharp tools, as this can cause damage.
      4. Reassembly: Refit the filter, close the bottom grille, and reconnect the power supply.
  • Service and Support: SKOPE provides helpful information on their website (www.skope.com/serviceandsupport) for preventative maintenance guidelines. In case of power supply flexible cord damage, it must be replaced by an authorised service agent or similarly qualified person. The refrigeration system must only be serviced by qualified personnel.
