Overview

This document describes the GK73 Series RGB USB/Bluetooth 2 mode keyboard, which includes models GK73, GK73S, SK71, SK71S, SK73, and SK73S.

Function Description

The GK73 Series keyboard offers both USB and Bluetooth 2 mode connectivity, providing flexibility for various setups. It features RGB backlighting and supports multiple operational modes, including Standard mode, Driver mode, and three Onboard modes (Layer1/Fn1, Layer2/Fn2, Layer3/Fn3).

Connectivity:

  • Bluetooth ON/OFF switch: Activated by pressing FN + Space.
  • Link to USB mode: Also activated by pressing FN + Space.
  • Bluetooth Pairing: The keyboard supports pairing with up to three Bluetooth devices.
    • FN + Z (long press): Pairs with Bluetooth equipment 1. The red and green LEDs of the Z keycap will flash. A short press connects or disconnects from Bluetooth equipment 1.
    • FN + X (long press): Pairs with Bluetooth equipment 2. The red and green LEDs of the X keycap will flash. A short press connects or disconnects from Bluetooth equipment 2.
    • FN + C (long press): Pairs with Bluetooth equipment 3. The red and green LEDs of the C keycap will flash. A short press connects or disconnects from Bluetooth equipment 3.
    • Note: If Bluetooth pairing times out or fails, re-pair. If pairing is successful but the keyboard doesn't work, delete the keyboard from the Bluetooth list of the equipment and pair again.

FN Functionality:

  • FN Hold Mode: Double-click FN to light its white LED, holding the FN function. Click FN again to exit this mode.
  • Function Keys (F1-F10):
    • FN + 1 to FN + 10 correspond to F1 to F10.
    • FN + _ (FN + minus) acts as /.
    • FN + + (FN + equals) acts as *.
    • FN + [ acts as ].
    • FN + Shift + [ acts as }.
    • FN + ; acts as ,.
    • FN + Shift + ; acts as ".
    • FN + , acts as ..
    • FN + Shift + , acts as ~.
    • FN + . acts as /.
    • FN + Shift + . acts as ?.
  • Numeric Keypad Functions (when NUM is active):
    • FN + num 1 acts as Del.
    • FN + num 2 acts as End.
    • FN + num 3 acts as PD (Page Down).
    • FN + num 4 acts as Ins.
    • FN + num 5 acts as HM (Home).
    • FN + num 6 acts as PU (Page Up).
    • FN + num 7 acts as PS (Print Screen).
    • FN + num 8 acts as SL (Scroll Lock).
    • FN + num 9 acts as PB (Pause Break).
    • FN + num 0 acts as =.
    • FN + num . acts as +.
    • FN + Shift + num 0 acts as -.
    • FN + Shift + num . acts as +.
  • Media Keys:
    • FN + A: Play/Pause.
    • FN + S: Previous track.
    • FN + D: Next track.
    • FN + F: Mute.
    • FN + G: Volume down.
    • FN + H: Volume up.
  • System Controls:
    • FN + Tab (long press for 3 seconds): Locks/unlocks the keyboard.
    • FN + Win: Locks/unlocks the Win key.
    • FN + L-Alt: Displays low voltage and charging status indicator.
    • FN + L-Ctrl: Controls Logo LED and back side LED.
  • Sleep Time Setting: The keyboard's sleep time can be set, indicated by a flashing white LED. Options include: 0 (never sleep), 1 (5 minutes), 2 (10 minutes), up to 9 (45 minutes).

Usage Features

Backlight Settings (Cannot modify unless specified):

  • FN + backspace: Backlight ON/OFF.
  • FN + O: Backlight mode 1-5 (Can modify).
  • FN + P: Backlight mode 6-9.
  • FN + \|: Light effect pause/play.
  • FN + ↓: Backlight brightness down.
  • FN + ↑: Backlight brightness up.
  • FN + ←: Backlight effect speed down.
  • FN + →: Backlight effect speed up.

Define Mode: The keyboard supports user customization through four modes: Standard mode, Driver mode, and three Onboard modes.

  • Standard Mode: All buttons are not user-defined.
  • Driver Mode (FN + Q):
    • "Q" lights a white LED.
    • Allows assignment of macros (over 32 bytes) and backlight settings.
    • Requires the driver to be running and the keyboard connected to the driver.
    • Press FN + Q again to return to Standard mode.
  • Onboard Mode 1 (Layer1 / Fn1) (FN + W):
    • "W" lights a white LED.
    • Does not require the driver to run or be connected.
    • Custom key functions and macro settings can be modified via the driver, downloaded, and saved to the keyboard.
    • Reference setting: Multifunctional reuse of the space bar. A short press for regular space function. Space + other key combination can call the Onboard Mode Layer 3 function.
    • Press FN + W again to return to Standard mode.
  • Onboard Mode 2 (Layer2 / Fn2) (FN + E):
    • "E" lights a white LED.
    • Reference setting: MAC OS keyboard layout, where "control, option, command" keys are in their original positions.
    • Settings can be modified via the driver, downloaded, and saved to the keyboard.
    • Does not require the driver to run or be connected when using Mac's function settings.
    • Press FN + E again to return to Standard mode.
  • Onboard Mode 3 (Layer3 / Fn3) (FN + R):
    • "R" lights a white LED.
    • Reference setting: Special function keys, combination keys, or macro keys.
    • These settings can be called by the FN3 key in Layer1 and Layer2.
    • All settings in this mode can be modified and saved to the keyboard.
    • Press FN + R again to return to Standard mode.

Customization Notes:

  • Onboard modes 1/2/3 are strongly recommended for customization.
  • In custom mode, all keys except FN can be redefined. Some FN + "x" functions can also be modified, excluding backlight, Bluetooth, and system controls.
  • The FN button cannot be moved, but FN1/FN2/FN3 can be assigned to any key on the keyboard in custom mode.

  • Bluetooth Connection Status: A flashing blue LED indicates the keyboard is connecting to Bluetooth equipment.
  • Troubleshooting Bluetooth Pairing: If pairing fails or the keyboard doesn't work after successful pairing, delete the keyboard from the device's Bluetooth list and re-pair.
