Introduction of the smart fortwo, Model Series 451
Instrument panel
For the design of the instrument panel, particular
emphasis was placed on the following criteria:
• Ergonomics
• Clear layout
• Passenger safety
The instrument panel is designed with straight lines
and equipped with airbags and a full length knee
bolster to improve passenger protection.
Two additional instruments (tachometer and clock)
are available as special equipment (SA) and are posi-
tioned above the center console. The air vents on the
instrument panel have a cylindrical shape.
