Do you have a question about the Smeg PL65337NIN and is the answer not in the manual?
This document serves as a comprehensive guide for the proper and safe use of your dishwasher, covering installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. It is an integral part of the appliance and should be kept for future reference.
The dishwasher is designed and manufactured for the specific function of washing and drying dishes. Any other use is considered improper, and the manufacturer disclaims all responsibility for such uses. It is intended for indoor use in household environments and similar settings, including staff kitchens in shops, offices, and other workplaces, institutions, hotels, hostels, bed and breakfasts, and other residential facilities.
Before using the appliance, it is crucial to read all instructions carefully. The dishwasher's controls are located on the front panel, and programming and option selection are only possible when the door is closed. The appliance features an ON/OFF button with a warning light, option selection buttons with warning lights, a "CHILD LOCK" activation button, a START/PAUSE button, program selection buttons, an information display, and a handle to open the door. The display provides information on programmed functions, including a "Time to end" indicator.
Upon pressing the ON/OFF button, the dishwasher starts, and its pilot light illuminates. After approximately 3 seconds, the display turns on, showing information relevant to the dishwasher's current state. All programming operations must be performed with the door closed; if open, the display will show "--:--".
Program selection is made via dedicated buttons. Pressing the button for the desired program will light up its pilot light, confirming the selection, and the display will show a forecast of the program's duration (e.g., "h.mm"). To start the machine, press and hold the START/PAUSE button for a few seconds until its LED flashes and a confirmation "beep" is heard. The cycle duration on the display will then begin to decrease.
The program's progress is indicated by warning lights for different phases (Prewash, Wash, Rinse, Drying). The current phase's light flashes, while subsequent phases remain lit. At the end of each phase, its signal turns off. If a program does not require a prewash, that signal remains off.
The dishwasher includes a "CHILD LOCK" option, indicated by a warning light. It also features indicators for rinse aid and salt levels, and an "End of cycle" signal. A "Delayed start" indicator, wash cycle duration, and alarms are shown on the display.
During the initial phase of a wash program, the spray arms may not be heard for about 5 minutes; this is a normal part of the wash cycle sequence. At the program's conclusion, the display will show "end". Pressing any program button will make the dishwasher ready for a new cycle.
To interrupt a running program, press the START/PAUSE button for a few seconds until its LED remains lit (accompanied by a confirmation beep). The cycle can then be restarted or changed. To change a program, interrupt the current one, select the new program, and then press the START/PAUSE button again to start it. To cancel a running program, interrupt it, then press and hold the START/PAUSE button until the display shows "P0", and the dishwasher will drain the tank. The "START/PAUSE" LED will flash during this process, and "End" will appear on the display once draining is complete.
If the door is opened during operation, the program will resume from where it was interrupted once the door is closed and the START/PAUSE button is pressed again. If the tub temperature is above 50°C, the program will resume after approximately 60 seconds.
The dishwasher offers various programs, including SOAK, CRYSTAL 45°, ECO, MIX 65°, INTENSIVE 70°, EXPRESS 27', DELICATE 50°, SILENT, FULL EXPRESS 60', and STERILISE 75°. Some programs include an "Automatic door opening – Dry Assist" feature, indicated by "**", which allows for perfect drying at lower rinse temperatures, saving energy. This option starts automatically if compatible but can be disabled.
Additional options include "SPECIAL" for creating extra programs, "DRY ASSIST" for enhanced drying, "½ LOAD FLEXY ZONE" for washing fewer dishes with energy savings, "DELAY" to postpone wash cycles by up to 24 hours, and "SELF CLEAN" for cleaning the machine when empty.
Regular cleaning and maintenance are essential for the appliance's longevity and performance. Before any maintenance, always unplug the appliance or switch off the omnipolar circuit breaker.
The water intake filter should be cleaned regularly. To do this, close the water supply tap, unscrew the end of the water intake hose, remove filter A, and clean it under running water. Then, replace the filter and carefully screw the hose back on.
The spray arms also require cleaning. Remove them and wash with a jet of water, ensuring nothing obstructs their rotation when reinstalled. The upper spray arm is removed by unscrewing locking ring R, while the lower spray arm is simply lifted up. For orbital spray arm assemblies, hold the longer arm and pull the orbital unit upward. Instructions are provided for removing and cleaning the planetarium sprayer.
The filter unit should also be cleaned. Remove the planetarium spray arm (if fitted), grip the tabs, turn them anticlockwise, and lift upwards. Push the central filter D from underneath to remove it from the micro-filter. Separate the two parts of the plastic filter by pressing the body of the filter in the indicated areas.
The dishwasher has an autodiagnosis system that detects and indicates malfunctions. Error codes (e.g., Error 01, Error 02, Error 03, etc.) are displayed for issues such as anti-flooding system trips, water level problems, heating failures, temperature sensor disconnections, water filling issues, pump failures, inaccurate water measurement, water distribution anomalies, water intake malfunctions, and washing pump failures. If an alarm occurs, the machine stops the current program and indicates the fault. For certain alarms (E1, E11), technical assistance is required. For others, the user can stop the program, switch off the dishwasher, then switch it on and restart a new wash cycle. If a malfunction persists, contact an authorized Service Centre.
The appliance requires regeneration salt to prevent scale deposits. For the first use, fill the container with 1 kg of salt and 1 litre of water. Remove any salt residues before screwing the cap back on. Only use regeneration salt specifically for domestic dishwashers. After adding salt, run a wash cycle to remove any excess. The amount of rinse aid can be regulated, and the dispenser should be refilled when the indicator light turns on. The detergent dispenser is opened by lightly pressing button P, and detergent or a tablet is added before closing the cover until it clicks.
