Overview

This document describes an induction hob, designed for cooking food in a home environment. It emphasizes safety, proper usage, and maintenance to ensure the appliance's aesthetic and functional qualities are preserved.

Function Description:

The induction hob is equipped with an induction generator for each cooking zone. These generators, located under the glass ceramic cooking surface, create an electromagnetic field that induces a thermal current directly in the base of the pan. This method of heating means heat is generated within the pan itself, rather than being transmitted from the hob to the pan. This design offers several advantages:

  • Energy Saving: Direct transmission of energy to the pan (requiring suitable magnetizable cookware) leads to energy savings compared to traditional electric cooking.
  • Improved Safety: Energy is only transmitted to the pan placed on the hob, reducing the risk of burns.
  • High Efficiency: A high level of energy is transmitted from the induction cooking zone to the base of the pan.
  • Rapid Heating: The hob offers fast heating speeds.
  • Reduced Sticking: The cooking surface is only heated under the base of the pan, meaning spilled foods are less likely to stick.

The hob features a power control module that optimizes and limits consumption. If the overall set power level exceeds the maximum permitted limit, the electronic circuit board automatically manages the power supplied by the hot plates, maintaining the maximum deliverable power levels. Priority is given to the first zone set in chronological order. The power control module does not affect the total power consumption of the appliance.

Important Technical Specifications:

The hob offers various cooking zones with specific dimensions and power draw:

  • Individual Zones (1-2-3-4):
    • Dimensions (H x L): 180 x 180 mm
    • Minimum pan dimensions: Ø110 mm
    • Maximum pan dimensions: Ø180 mm
    • Max. power draw: 1500 W
    • Power draw in booster function: 2000 W
  • Bridged Zones (1+2 and 3+4):
    • Dimensions (H x L): 180 x 375 mm
    • Minimum pan dimensions: Ø160 mm
    • Maximum pan dimensions: 180 x 375 mm
    • Max. power draw: 3000 W
    • Power draw in booster function: Not applicable (indicated by '-')

Power levels are approximate and may vary according to the pan used or settings made.

Electrical Connection:

The appliance can operate in several modes:

  • 220-240 V 1~: 3 x 6 mm² three-core cable.
  • 380-415 V 2N~: 4 x 2.5 mm² four-core cable.

Usage Features:

  • Switching On/Off: Press the ON/OFF button to turn the appliance on/off.
  • Cooking Zone Activation: Select the desired cooking zone using its selection button, then use the increase/decrease buttons to set power levels from 1 to 9 or enable the Booster function.
  • Booster Function: Allows heating a pan at maximum power for a limited time (max 10 minutes), returning to power level 9 afterward. Not available for bridged cooking zones.
  • Timed Cooking: Programs automatic switch-off for each cooking zone after a user-set period (1 to 99 minutes).
  • Controls Lock: Locks all hob controls (except ON/OFF) to prevent accidental changes or for cleaning. Activated by pressing the lock button for at least one second when a cooking zone is active.
  • Bridge Function: Automatically divides power equally between two zones (front and rear) for large or long pans. Activated by touching the left or right zone buttons together.
  • Power Limitation Menu: Allows setting the maximum power limit for the appliance (factory set to 7.2 kW, adjustable to 6.0, 3.5, 2.8, 2.2, 1.6, and 1.0 kW).
  • Cookware Suitability: Requires metal cookware with magnetic properties and a sufficiently large, smooth, flat base. Unsuitable materials include copper, stainless steel, aluminum, fireproof glass, wood, ceramic, and terracotta.
  • Safety Features:
    • Limiting Cooking Duration: An automatic device limits use duration; heating switches off if settings are unchanged for a maximum time (10 hours for levels 1-8, 3 hours for level 9, 10 minutes for Booster).

    • Error Warnings: Displays error codes (e.g., "Fc", "Ft", "FE") for malfunctions or overheating, requiring immediate action and potential technical support.

Maintenance Features:

  • Cleaning the Glass Ceramic Hob:
    • General: Clean regularly after use, once cooled. Use specific non-abrasive, non-chlorine-based cleaning products.
    • Daily Cleaning: Apply product to a damp cloth, wipe, rinse, and dry with a soft microfibre cloth.
    • Weekly Cleaning: Use an ordinary glass ceramic cleaning product to create a protective, water-repellent membrane. Ensure no detergent residue remains before heating.
    • Food Stains/Residues: Light marks from aluminum pans can be cleaned with vinegar-moistened cloth. Burnt-on residues should be removed after cooking, then rinsed and dried. Avoid moving pans over dirt to prevent scratches.
    • Stains: Shiny surfaces from pan bases or unsuitable detergents are difficult to remove and may require repeated cleaning. Corrosive detergents can wear away decoration.
    • Recommendations: Use cleaning products distributed by the manufacturer. Dry thoroughly after cleaning to prevent water/detergent interference or marks.

Installation:

  • General: Installation and servicing must be carried out by qualified personnel according to current standards. The appliance must be connected to earth.
  • Hob Seal: An adhesive seal is provided to prevent liquid leakage between the hob frame and countertop. For flush mounting, insulating silicone should be used to fill edges.
  • Over Built-in Oven Unit: Ensure sufficient ventilation and air discharge. A space must be left between the hob bottom and the top of the appliance below. If installed above an oven, the oven must have a cooling fan.
  • On Top of Empty Kitchen Unit or Drawers: If other furniture is below, a double-layer wooden base (at least 20 mm from hob bottom) must be installed to prevent accidental contact with sharp or hot parts.
  • Fastening to Built-in Cabinet: Two fastening options (side screws or front/rear screws) are available. Fixing brackets are installed according to countertop thickness (30, 40, or 50 mm). For countertops less than 30 mm, an additional spacer is required.
  • Power Cable: Do not bend or trap the power cable. If a plug is used, it must be accessible after installation.

Safety Precautions (General):

  • Risk of Personal Injury:
    • Appliance and accessible parts become very hot during use; keep children away.
    • Use heat-resistant gloves.
    • Never use water to extinguish fires; turn off appliance and smother flames with a fire blanket or cover.
