The Smith Retro H1 is a portable DAB/FM radio with an integrated Bluetooth speaker, designed for versatile audio entertainment. Its retro aesthetic is complemented by modern features, making it suitable for various listening environments.

Function Description:

The Retro H1 serves as a multi-functional audio device, offering access to digital (DAB) and analog (FM) radio broadcasts, as well as wireless audio streaming via Bluetooth.

DAB Mode: Provides access to digital radio stations with enhanced sound quality and additional information display. Users can scan for available DAB stations, manually tune to specific frequencies, and prune stations that are no longer receivable. The display offers various information options, including Dynamic Label Segment (DLS) for scrolling text, signal strength, Program Type (PTY), channel and frequency details, signal error, signal information (data rate), and time and date. Dynamic Range Control (DRC) is available with three levels (Off, Low, High) to adjust audio compression.
FM Mode: Allows tuning into traditional FM radio broadcasts. The radio supports Radio Data System (RDS) information where available, providing station name, program details, and current time. Users can scan the frequency band for available stations, fine-tune frequencies, and adjust scan settings to prioritize strong or all stations. FM display information includes Radiotext (RT), Program Type (PTY), station name or frequency, audio mode (Stereo/Mono), and time and date.
Bluetooth Speaker: Enables wireless audio streaming from compatible devices such as smartphones or tablets. The radio features an NFC touch point for quick and easy Bluetooth pairing with NFC-enabled devices. For non-NFC devices, manual pairing is supported. Controls on the radio allow for play/pause, next track, previous track, and disconnecting the Bluetooth connection.
Alarm Function: The device includes two independent alarm settings. Users can configure the alarm time, duration (15, 30, 45, 60, 90 minutes), and sound source (Buzzer, DAB, or FM). Alarms can be set to repeat daily, once, on weekends, or weekdays. A snooze function is also available, providing approximately 5 minutes of extra sleep.
System Settings: Allows customization of various device parameters, including manual setting of date and time, backlight brightness for standby and normal modes, display language (English, French, German, Norwegian, Dutch), and viewing the software version. A factory reset option is available to restore all original settings, though this will delete all stored DAB and FM station presets.
