Parts & Accessories:
The air fryer consists of a Main Unit Housing, a Control Panel, an Air Inlet Vent, a Hot Air Outlet Vent, a Power Cable, a Basket, a Handle, and a Fry Tray. The Fry Tray may include rubber bumpers, which are generally not recommended to be removed.
Usage Features:
- Before First Use: Users are instructed to remove all packaging, stickers, and labels. The appliance should be wiped clean with a warm, moist cloth and mild detergent. All cooking accessories should be hand washed. A preheat cycle is recommended to burn off any manufacturer's protective coating, followed by another wipe-down. The appliance must be placed on a stable, horizontal, and heat-resistant surface with adequate air circulation, away from hot surfaces and combustible materials. The Fry Tray should be placed in the Basket, which then slides into the appliance until it clicks into place. It's crucial not to fill the Basket with oil or frying fat, as the appliance cooks with hot air.
- Control Panel:
- Power Button: Illuminates the control panel when the Basket and Fry Tray are correctly placed. A single press sets a default cooking temperature, and a second press starts the cooking process. Pressing it during a cooking cycle turns the appliance off.
- Cooking Presets: Eight preset buttons are available for common foods like Chips, Drumstick, Shrimp, Cake, Beef steak, Fish, Rib, and Keep Warm. Each preset has a default cooking time and temperature, which can be adjusted. Running lights on the control panel indicate an active cooking cycle and remain illuminated for up to 20 seconds after completion.
- Temperature Control Buttons (+/-): Adjust the cooking temperature in 5°C increments within the 80°C-200°C range. Holding a button down allows for rapid adjustment.
- Timer Control Buttons (+/-): Adjust the cooking time in 1-minute increments within the 1-60 minute range. Holding a button down allows for rapid adjustment.
- Time and Temperature Display: Shows the current temperature and remaining cooking time.
- Using the Appliance:
- Plug into a grounded wall socket.
- To preheat, press the Power Button, then adjust temperature using the Temperature Increase/Decrease Buttons. Set a preheat time (e.g., 3 minutes) using the Time Decrease Button.
- After preheating, carefully pull out the Basket, place ingredients inside (always use the Fry Tray with the Basket for better performance), and slide it back in.
- Do not touch the hot Basket directly; use the handle.
- Press the Power Button again to set the desired time and temperature for cooking.
- The appliance beeps five times when the cooking time elapses.
- Remove the Basket and place it on a heat-resistant surface. Use tongs to remove food. Avoid turning the Basket upside down to prevent excess oil from leaking onto food.
- If food is not fully cooked, slide the Basket back in and add more cooking time.
- The appliance is ready for subsequent batches.
- Shaking: For even cooking, especially with smaller foods, the Basket should be removed during the cooking process, shaken gently, and then returned to the appliance. Users are advised to wear oven mitts as the Basket will be hot.
- Tips: Smaller foods require shorter cooking times. Larger quantities may require longer times. Shaking ensures even frying. Adding a small amount of vegetable oil to fresh potatoes can enhance crispiness. The appliance can cook oven-friendly snacks and reheat foods. Premade dough for snacks requires less cooking time than homemade dough.
- Safety Features:
- Automatic Shut-Off: The appliance automatically shuts off when the cooking time is completed or can be manually switched off by pressing the Power Button. The fan continues to run for 10 seconds to cool down the appliance.
- Internal Microswitch: Automatically shuts down the fan and heating element when the Basket is removed.
- Overheating Protection: If the internal temperature control system fails, the appliance will activate protection and cease to function. Users should unplug the appliance and allow it to cool before restarting.
- Polarized Plug: Ensures proper electrical connection.
- General Safeguards: Emphasizes not immersing the main unit in water, avoiding contact with heating elements, not covering vents, not pouring oil into the basket, keeping the power cord away from hot surfaces, and keeping children away from the appliance. It also warns against using extension cords, operating near combustible materials, and placing the appliance against walls or other appliances without adequate clearance.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning: The appliance should be cleaned after each use. The Basket and Fry Tray have a nonstick surface, so abrasive cleaning materials or utensils should not be used.
- Unplug the power cable and ensure the appliance is thoroughly cooled.
- Wipe the outside with a warm, moist cloth and mild detergent.
- Clean the Basket and Fry Tray with hot water, mild detergent, and a nonabrasive sponge. The Fry Tray is dishwasher safe.
- For stubborn food particles, soak the Fry Tray in hot, soapy water for 10 minutes.
- Rubber bumpers on the Fry Tray are generally not removed but can be carefully detached for cleaning and reattached by aligning the hole with the slot.
- Clean the inside of the appliance with hot water, mild detergent, and a nonabrasive sponge.
- If necessary, remove food residue from the heating element with a soft cleaning brush.
- Storage: Unplug and allow the appliance to cool. Ensure all components are clean and dry before storing in a clean, dry place.
Troubleshooting:
The manual provides a troubleshooting guide for common issues such as the appliance not working (not plugged in, not turned on, or accidentally turned off), food not cooked evenly (overloaded basket, low temperature, or needing shaking), the basket not sliding properly (overloaded or Fry Tray incorrectly placed), white smoke (too much oil or grease residue), and unevenly fried or non-crispy fries (improper potato prep, uneven cuts, overcrowding, or too much water in raw fries).
