x) Remove the patient circuit, patient valve and mask. If an HMEF was not used, clean
the patient valve as instructed in the User’s Manual.
10.4 Check Frequency with No Air Mix
i) Connect a Pneupac backpressure device and ratePAC to the outlet port of the
ventilator module.
ii) Select the 'On' or 'CMV/Demand' position.
iii) Set a backpressure of 15 x100Pa (15 cmH
2
O) on the backpressure device. The green
Cycle Indicator LED (top centre) should now illuminate briefly for each cycle of the
ventilator as the pressure passes through 10 x100Pa (10 cmH
2
O). This should continue
through Checks 10.4 to 10.7.
iv) Select ‘No Air Mix’.
v) Using the table to set the controls, check the frequency of the ventilator across the
whole range ensuring that the backpressure is maintained at 15 x100Pa (15 cmH
2
O)
when V
Del
is changed.
