Auxiliary 12v Power Post

XRC Gen3 winches feature an auxiliary positive power post on the control box for quick use of 12 volt

accessories with out popping the hood. Perfect for powering small items such as an air compressor.

Power post is protected with a 50-Amp automatic circuit breaker. In case of a ground short, or thermal

overload, the breaker will trip, it will automatically reset itself after a short period of time after the fault

is removed.

Step 1: Open cover to expose power post. (Fig 1).

Step 2: Attach accessory positive lead to power post (Fig 2).

Step 3: Attach accessory negative lead to a suitable ground location on your vehicle.

Note: You may remove the button head bolt to connect a power wire with an eyelet.

  If your Smittybilt Winches motor doesn't turn on, start by checking if the safety switch is in the ON position. Ensure the switch assembly is firmly connected to the connector. Inspect the battery cable for looseness and tighten the nuts on the cable connectors if needed. If these steps don't resolve the issue, the solenoid might be malfunctioning; tap it to free the contact while applying 12 volts directly to the coil terminal to see if it clicks. If not, the switch assembly or the motor itself might be defective and need replacement. Also, check for water in the motor, and if voltage is present at the armature port when the switch is pressed, consider replacing the motor.
