O-RINGS
The SVT270B has been assembled with O-rings made with Nitrile, Buna-N, a materi-
al compatible with most fluids found in an automobile, but not brake fluid. Exposure
to brake fluid will cause these O-rings to swell. O-rings made of Ethylene Propylene
(EPDM) will not swell in brake fluid, but will swell if exposed to gasoline. If the piston
O-ring (#311) swells, the pump handle will not move easily and eventually the pump
will not work. Repair kit SVT270BRK contains O-rings made of Buna-N.
