1. Run engine until warm.
2. Place the tractor on a level surface (see Figure 4).
3. Stop the engine and remove starter insert.
Changing the Engine Oil
WARNING
Fuel and its vapors are extremely flammable and
explosive.
Fire or explosion can cause severe burns or death.
When Changing Oil
If you drain the oil from the top oil fill tube, the fuel tank
must be empty or fuel can leak out and result in a fire
or explosion.
4. Clean oil ll and lter areas of any debris. Remove
dipstick and lay on clean cloth (see Figure 5).
5. Disconnect the oil drain hose (see Figure 9). Carefully
remove cap and lower hose into an approved container.
After the oil has drained, install cap tightly, then attach
the hose to the side of the engine.
6. Remove the oil lter and dispose of properly.
7. Lightly lubricate the oil lter gasket with fresh, clean oil
(see Figure 10).
8. Install the oil lter by hand until the gasket contacts the
oil lter adapter, then tighten the oil lter 1/2 to 3/4 turns.
9. Add oil (see Check and Add Engine Oil).
