Overview

This document describes the Soleus Air Window Air Conditioner, a cooling appliance designed for indoor use.

Function Description

The Soleus Air Window Air Conditioner is designed to provide cooling, dehumidification, and air circulation within a room. It features multiple operating modes including Cool, Dry (Dehumidifier), Fan, Auto, Sleep, and Energy Saver. The unit is equipped with an electronic control panel and a remote control for convenient operation.

Cooling Mode: This mode allows the user to set a desired temperature between 61°F and 90°F. The compressor cycles on and off to maintain the set temperature, with adjustable fan speeds (High, Medium, Low). Dry Mode (Dehumidifier): This mode helps reduce humidity in the room. Fan Only Mode: Provides air circulation and filtering without cooling, with adjustable fan speeds (High, Medium, Low). A set temperature cannot be entered in this mode. Auto Mode: The air conditioner automatically selects between Cool or Fan mode based on the current room temperature. Sleep Mode: Available in Cool, Dry, Auto, and Fan modes. The fan runs on low speed, and the temperature setting gradually increases by 2°F over the first two hours to maintain comfort while minimizing noise. Energy Saver Mode: When activated (default ON), the fan cycles on and off with the compressor to limit energy consumption. This mode is only available in COOL mode and is recommended for unoccupied rooms or when a wider temperature range is acceptable. If OFF, the fan runs continuously in fan or cool mode.

Timer Function: Allows users to set an Auto-on or Auto-off timer for 1-24 hours. The Auto-on timer activates the unit at previous settings, while the Auto-off timer turns it off after a set duration. MYTEMP Mode: Changes the thermostat sensor from the air conditioner to the remote control's location, allowing the unit to cool the area based on the remote's position and set temperature. Child Lock: Locks/unlocks the remote control buttons. Loss of Power Protection: The unit automatically restarts with the last used settings after a power interruption, though the timer function will be cancelled. Air Direction: Adjustable levers on the front air vents allow users to direct airflow (left, right, up, or down). Ventilation: A Fresh Air Lever (unavailable on WS1-06E-02 model) can be pushed to close the vent for optimal cooling or pulled to open it for fresh air recirculation.

All models operate on a 1/115/60 power supply. Noise levels (L/H) range from 55/58 dB(A) to 58/61 dB(A) depending on the model.

Power Cord and Plug: The unit is equipped with an LCDI (Leakage Current Detection and Interruption) power cord and plug, which disconnects power if current leakage is detected. Test and Reset buttons are provided on the plug to ensure proper functioning. It is crucial not to use extension cords or adapter plugs, and never remove the ground prong. The unit must be upright for 24 hours prior to operating to ensure compressor function.

Usage Features

Installation: Designed for standard double-hung windows. Two people are recommended for installation due to the unit's size. Special considerations are provided for storm windows to ensure proper drainage. The unit should be tilted slightly to the outside for condensation drainage. Weather Insulation Boards are included to prevent air leakage. Remote Control: The remote control has a signal range of up to 20 feet. It requires two AAA batteries (not included), and it's advised not to mix old and new batteries or different types. Normal Operating Sounds: Users may hear a "pinging" noise from water hitting the condenser, a "clicking" sound from the thermostat, and water collecting in the base pan during high humidity, which may drip outside. These are considered normal operational sounds. Error Codes: The digital display shows error codes for troubleshooting: E2 for room temperature sensor failure and E3 for room temperature pipe sensor failure. If these persist after power cycling, customer service should be contacted.

Maintenance Features

Air Filter Cleaning: The air filter should be checked and cleaned at least once a month. It can be removed, washed with liquid dish soap and warm water, rinsed, and air-dried, or vacuumed to remove dust. A "Filter Reset" button on the control panel reminds the user to clean the filter after 250 hours of fan operation. Cabinet Cleaning: The cabinet and front panel can be dusted with an oil-free cloth or washed with a damp cloth and mild liquid soap. Harsh cleaners, wax, or polish should not be used. Ensure excess water is wrung from cloths when cleaning around controls to prevent damage. Winter Storage: For extended non-use, the unit should be carefully removed from the window, covered with plastic, or placed in its original box. Wear and Tear: To minimize wear and tear and extend product life, it is recommended to wait at least 3 minutes before changing operating modes.

Safety Warnings: This product may expose users to chemicals like Lead and Bisphenol-A, known to cause birth defects or reproductive harm (as per California's Proposition 65). Users are advised to visit www.P65Warnings.ca.gov for more information. It is crucial to follow all safety messages, especially regarding electrical safety, to prevent fire, electrical shock, or injury. The unit is a cooling-only air conditioner and should not be used in freezing outdoor conditions.
