3.6.2.1.9 AFI (Amniotic Fluid Index) measurement
Function:
Evaluate the fetal status based on AFI.
Measurement the formula:
AFI=AFD1 (depth1) + AFD2 (depth2) + AFD3 (depth3) +
AFD4 (depth4)
AFD1, AFD2, AFD3, AFD4 refer to amniotic fluid depths in 4 parts.
1. In B mode, scan and freeze the image, press
the【Calc】key to pop up the Meas & Calc
menu, move the trackball, use the cursor to
select “OB Basic”, press the【SET】key to go to
the submenu, move the trackball to select
“CER”, press the【SET】key y to go to “CER”
measurement mode.
2. Measure CER. See “Distance Measurement”
for the detailed method.
3. CER measurement result is displayed in the
result window, meanwhile based on the preset
formula GA is displayed.
4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 to go to the next CER
measurement.
