There could be several reasons for the lack of sound. The connecting cord might be damaged, so try reconnecting it securely. Also, if you are playing a Super VCD and have selected “2:STEREO,” “2:1/L” or “2:2/R,” no sound will come out if audio track 2 is not recorded.

How to fix no sound on Sony DVP-F25 DVD Player?
    • K
      Kimberly SparksAug 26, 2025
If there is no sound coming from your Sony DVD player, check these possible causes: the connecting cord may not be securely connected, it could be damaged, or the player might be connected to the wrong input jack on the amplifier (receiver). Also, ensure the amplifier input is correctly set, and that the player is not in pause, Slow-motion Play, fast forward, or fast reverse mode. Try re-connecting the connecting cord securely. If the audio signal does not come through the DIGITAL OUT (OPTICAL) jack, check the audio settings. Finally, if playing a Super VCD, ensure audio track 2 is recorded.
