Usage Features:
- Tuner Section: Allows tuning to stations manually or by selecting one of 30 stored stations in memory. Features DBFB (Dynamic Bass Feedback) system for reinforced bass sound and a 5-band graphic equalizer for adjusting sound quality.
- Cassette Deck Section: Supports auto reverse playback on both decks (MHC-3300CD only) and double decks enable tape dubbing and successive playback (MHC-3300CD only).
- CD Player Section: Supports playing the entire disc, single selections, random order (shuffle play), repeat play, and programmed play (up to 20 selections). Features AMS (Automatic Music Sensor) for locating the beginning of a selection.
- Clock Setting: Allows setting the time in a 12-hour system. The clock will blink and the clock will be delayed for the length of time of the power interruption.
- Audio Adjustment: Includes volume adjustment, DBFB level control, balance control, and a graphic equalizer with preset frequencies (100 Hz, 400 Hz, 1 kHz, 4 kHz, 12 kHz) for sound quality adjustment.
- Radio Tuning: Manual tuning and storing up to 30 stations in memory. Features STEREO/MUTING for eliminating FM interstation noise.
- Tape Playback: Supports fast winding, playback from beginning of a cassette, and reverse side playback. The MHC-3300CD model supports relay play from Deck A to Deck B.
- Recording: Allows recording from various sources (AUX, Tuner, CD, Tape) onto cassette tapes. Features Dolby NR (noise reduction) system and the ability to insert a blank space.
- Tape Dubbing (MHC-3300CD only): Enables dubbing from Deck A to Deck B at normal or high speed. Supports eliminating long blanks and skipping particular portions during dubbing.

- Remote Commander: Provides remote control for various functions including CD, tape, tuner, amplifier, and system operations.
Maintenance Features:
- Cleaning the Heads and the Tape Paths: Clean the capstan, erase head, record/playback head, and pinch roller every 10 hours of operation using a cotton swab moistened with cleaning fluid or alcohol.
- Demagnetizing the Heads: Demagnetize the heads after 20 to 30 hours of use to remove residual magnetism.
- Cleaning the Cabinet: Use a soft cloth slightly moistened with mild detergent solution.
- Cleaning Discs: Wipe discs from the center out with a cleaning cloth. Do not use solvents or anti-static spray.
- Battery Life: Approximately half a year of normal operation for the Sony SUM-3 (NS) batteries. Replace batteries when the remote commander cannot operate the system.
- To avoid battery leakage: Remove batteries if the commander is not to be used for a long period of time to prevent damage caused by battery leakage and corrosion.
- On moisture condensation in the CD player: If the player is brought directly from a cold to a warm location, or is placed in a very damp room, moisture may condense on the lens inside the player. Should this occur, the player will not operate. In this case, remove the disc and leave the player turned on for about an hour until the moisture evaporates.
