HOW TO USE THE CARRYING STRAP
TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
Should any problem occur with th,e set. make the following
simple tests
to determine whether c,r not servicing is required.
If the problem persists after you ha,ve made these tests, con-
sult the nearest Sony dealer for furl her information.
I No sound from the speakers. ]
• The POWER switch is set lo OFF. .. Set ii to ON.
•
The VOLUME control is turned down completely.
• Incorrect polarity
of batteries.
• Weak batteries.
,. Replace all th,e batteries with new ones.
• Battery operation
is attempted while the ac power adaptor
or car battery cord is connected to the receiver but not to the
wall outlet or the cigarette lighter socket.
• Loose connection of an ac powE!f adaptor or a car battery
cord.
,. Connect it firmly to the rece1 1ver DC IN 4.5 V Jack and to
a wall outlet or a cigarette lighter socket.
• A
pair of headphones are connec:ted to the PHONES jack
Weak or interrupted sound. or unsatisfactory reception
• Weak batteries.
• Improper
tun ing. ,. Turn the TUNIING knob where the TUN-
ING Indica
tor illuminates .
• Weak signal.
,. In a bufldlng or ,a vehicle. use the receiver
near a w
indow
• Improper adjustment of the antenna (tor the FM reception)
,. Pull out the telescopic antenna and adjust its len gth. direc -
tion , and angle for the best reception. Extend the headphone
cord antenna when lis tening with the headphones.
