Overview

This document provides a comprehensive FAQ for SoundPEATS Free2 Classic earbuds, covering common issues and their solutions related to Bluetooth connectivity, sound quality, charging, and touch controls. It also outlines customer service options for unresolved problems.

Bluetooth Connectivity

The SoundPEATS Free2 Classic earbuds are designed for straightforward pairing. To initiate pairing, simply open the charging case lid and remove both earbuds. They will automatically power on and enter pairing mode. Successful pairing between the earbuds is indicated by alternating red and white lights on the main earbud and a steady white light on the secondary earbud. Once this sequence is observed, users can activate Bluetooth on their device and select "Free2 classic" to connect.

Should users encounter difficulties in establishing a connection between the two earbuds or between the earbuds and a device, a reset procedure is available. This involves opening the case lid, ensuring both earbuds are charging (indicated by steady red lights), and then pressing and holding the Multi-Function Buttons (MFBs) on both earbuds for 10 seconds. The reset is complete when the red and white lights flash twice alternately.

Bluetooth connection stability can sometimes be affected by environmental factors. The earbuds may experience interference when in close proximity to devices that emit radio waves, such as personal computers, Wi-Fi routers, microwave ovens, and refrigerators. To mitigate this, it is recommended to use the earbuds away from such devices. Furthermore, the human body can act as a significant signal blocker. If the Bluetooth device (e.g., phone) is in a pocket or bag, moving it to a position with an unobstructed line of sight to the earbuds can improve signal strength. Interference can also occur if the earbuds are close to other active Bluetooth devices; turning off the Bluetooth function on these other devices can help.

If the earbuds stop connecting to a device, several troubleshooting steps can be taken. First, clear the pairing record between the earbuds and all previously connected devices. Next, clear any existing Bluetooth listings on the device and restart it. Placing the earbuds back into the charging case can initiate a reset. After removing them from the case, allow some time for them to pair with each other before attempting to connect via the device's Bluetooth settings.

Issues where the left and right earbuds fail to work together can often be resolved by cleaning the charging connectors. Using a light sandpaper or microfiber cloth with a small amount of rubbing alcohol can ensure proper charging. Following this, placing them back into the charging case can reset their connection.

Connecting the earbuds to a Mac-book or computer, rather than a phone, might require a specific sequence. First, unpair the earbuds from the phone to put them back into pairing mode. Then, place them in the charging case to reset. After taking them out, open the Bluetooth settings on the Mac-book/computer to connect. If issues persist, updating the computer's Bluetooth driver may be necessary. It's important to note that there is no specific driver for the earbuds; the Bluetooth driver must come from the computer manufacturer for the exact model. Downloading and installing the appropriate driver from the vendor's website, followed by a system restart, is advised.

Sound Quality

A reduction in earbud volume over time can often be attributed to the sound hole being blocked by foreign objects. Gently cleaning the screen with a small amount of alcohol can help remove dust or secretions that may be causing the blockage.

If one earbud is quieter than the other, several solutions can be attempted. Similar to the volume reduction issue, cleaning the screen with alcohol to remove dust or secretions is a primary step. Users should also try playing different songs or videos, as sound effects can vary and be unstable across different media. Changing the playback device can also help diagnose the problem. A suggested sequence for this is to unpair and delete the earbuds from the original device, pair them to a new device to play music, then unpair and delete from the new device, and finally, pair them back to the original device. If these steps don't resolve the issue, resetting the earbuds is recommended.

When experiencing issues with others hearing you during calls, ensure that phone calls are routed through the earbuds and that the calls are not muted. Cleaning the microphone holes can prevent dust or secretions from obstructing the sound input. Adjusting the volume through both the earbuds and the connected device is also important. For Android phone users, it's crucial to verify that settings allow both phone audio and media audio to be transmitted through the earbuds. If problems persist, trying another device can help determine if the issue lies with the earbuds or the original device.

Charging

The charging case provides clear indicators of its charging status. When the case is charging, a blue light will flash. Once fully charged, the blue lights will remain steady.

To charge the charging case, a Type-C adapter with a current of no more than 1A should be used. It is also recommended to charge both the earbuds and the charging case at least once every three months if they are not in regular use, to maintain battery health.

If the charging case fails to charge, users should try using a different, known-working charging cable. It's suggested to charge the case for more than 10 hours through a computer. Given that headphones are low-power devices, it's important to avoid using fast chargers to ensure charging safety.

When an earbud stops charging, it might be due to a completely depleted battery that requires some time to reactivate. There may be no immediate sign of activity during the initial minutes of charging. Users should confirm if the issue is resolved after charging the device for more than 5 minutes. If the LED indicator on the earbud remains off, a microfiber cloth with rubbing alcohol can be used to clean the charging connectors. Adjusting the earbuds to ensure the LED light turns on, and then fully charging the earbud, which may take several hours, is advised. A crucial tip is to avoid pressing the earbud too hard into the charging case to prevent damage to the copper pillars.

Touch Control

Issues with touch controls not consistently working can often be resolved by ensuring proper interaction and maintenance. Users should touch the middle of the control zone on the earbud. It's important to keep hands dry, as wet hands can impair touch control functionality. Experimenting with skipping songs multiple times can help users discover the optimal frequency for controlling the earbuds. Patience is key, as the perceived lack of functionality might simply be due to an unfamiliarity with the touch response. Another troubleshooting step involves discharging the earbuds, then recharging and resetting them.

For any problems with the earbuds that are not addressed in this FAQ, users are encouraged to contact the Customer Service Team. The team aims to provide a solution as quickly as possible.
