Pitch Detector
The C4’s Pitch Detector is an algorithm that detects the pitch of the connected instrument and uses it
as a guide to create Pitch Synthesis, Shifting or Harmony effects. In nearly every case the user doesn’t
need to worry about the response of the Pitch Detector – that said, we do offer some adjustable
parameters that refine the Pitch Detector and further decrease latency and improve pitch accuracy.
Narrowing the range of notes you expect to play though the C4 will help in providing the best
possible response from the C4.
• Source Dropdown Menu: Selects which Input signal the Pitch Detector algorithm responds.
• Low Note Dropdown Menu: Select the lowest possible note you plan to play. You may select
a note as low as a low B on a 5-string bass.
• High Note Dropdown Menu: Select the highest possible note you plan to play. You may
select a note as high as the 24

• Mode: The C4’s Pitch Detector has a choice of two different modes. Faster Tracking is the
default mode and it is the best option when fast playing. High Accuracy Tracking is the
second mode and it is best for slower playing where pitch accuracy is crucial.
