The K-FORCE® TOW 55 FULL LIGHT BAR is an emergency warning device designed to alert pedestrians and other operators to the presence of personnel, emergency vehicles, and emergency sites. This professional-grade equipment is intended for strict use by authorized personnel only, and users are responsible for understanding and obeying all laws regarding emergency warning devices.

Function Description:

The K-FORCE® TOW 55 is a full light bar that provides visual warning signals. It features a variety of flash patterns and can be controlled via a Supreme Control Switch Box (sold separately) or through manual wiring. The light bar includes warning functions for front, rear, and side visibility, as well as traffic advisor capabilities. It is designed to operate with a 12 VDC power source.

Usage Features:

The light bar offers multiple operational modes and controls, especially when used with the Supreme Control Switch Box.

• Slide Switch: This switch controls the activation of different warning functions.
  • Off position: Turns off all warning functions of the Light Bar.
  • 1st position: Powers only the back of the Bar and rear-facing 45° warning modules.
  • 2nd position: Powers only the front of the Bar and forward-facing 45° warning modules.
  • 3rd position: Powers all warning functions of the Light Bar.
• Mode Button: Activates warning in memory mode 2.
• Take Down Button:
  • 1st press: Activates Take Down Steady Burn.
  • 2nd press: Turns Take Down off.
• Alley Button:
  • 1st press: Activates Alley Steady Burn.
  • 2nd press: Turns Alley off.
• Traffic Advisor Buttons: These LEDs flash in sequence with the warning mode when not activated.
  • Left Arrow: Initiates a Right to Left Traffic Sweep.
  • Center Out Arrow: Initiates a Center Out Traffic Sweep.
  • Right Arrow: Initiates a Left to Right Traffic Sweep.
• Flash Pattern Button: Cycles through the next flash pattern with each press. It features non-volatile memory to recall the last selected flash pattern in each mode. Holding for 2 seconds toggles Steady Burn mode, and holding for 3 seconds toggles Random pattern mode.
• Cruise Button (45° (Four Corner) Modules):
  • 1st press: Activates Cruise Steady Burn.
  • 2nd press: Turns Cruise off.
• AUX Button: Toggles power to AUX cables on and off.
• Night Button: Activates back light LEDs in the control box. This feature can be automated by hardwiring a free-standing cable to the headlight +12VDC line. Once hardwired, the button ceases to function.

The light bar supports various flash patterns, including: Slow Left/Right, Left/Right, Fast Left/Right, Accelerating Left/Right, Slow-Fast-Slow Left/Right, Slow Alternating LED, Alternating LED, Fast Alternating LED, Faster Alternating LED, Fastest Alternating LED, Accelerating Alternating LED, Slow Full Bar, Medium Full Bar, Double Flash Full Bar, Triple Flash Full Bar, Faster Full Bar, Fast Full Bar, Accelerating Full Bar, 1 LED Night Rider, 1 LED Fast Night Rider, 2 LED Night Rider, 2 LED Fast Night Rider, Ping Pong, Fast Ping Pong, Driver Steady/Passenger Flash, Passenger Steady/Driver Flash, Slow Left/Right to Full Flash, Fast Left/Right to Full Flash, Slow Left/Right to Alternating to Full Bar Flash, and Fast Left/Right to Alternating to Full Bar Flash. All STL LED products are equipped with non-volatile memory, which recalls the last flash pattern when the light bar is turned on.

Mounting Options:

The K-FORCE® TOW 55 offers several mounting options to ensure secure attachment to a vehicle:

• Foot Brackets (Included): Adjustable brackets that allow for a flat, even contact with the roof.
• Universal Mounting Brackets (Included): These brackets work with the Foot Brackets and attach to the vehicle via pre-drilled holes and user-supplied screws.
• Vehicle Specific Mounting Brackets (Sold Separately): Designed for specific vehicle models, these brackets also attach to the Foot Brackets and then to the vehicle.
• Stud Mount (Sold Separately): Replaces the Foot Bracket with a main mounting bolt for stud mounting.
• Headache Rack Mount (Sold Separately): Attaches to the Headache Rack using vertical cutaways, allowing for direct mounting or "sandwiching" the back rack with user-supplied nuts and bolts.

Proper installation is crucial for the effectiveness and safety of the warning device. Installers must have a good understanding of automotive electronic systems and procedures. The light bar should be securely attached to a part of the vehicle strong enough to withstand applied forces, and mounting in airbag deployment areas must be avoided. Wiring should be protected, anchored, and fused correctly, with the ground wire connected directly to the NEGATIVE (-) battery post. Electromagnetic interference should be minimized by mounting the light bar away from radio antennas and avoiding shared grounding circuits.

Maintenance Features:

To preserve the longevity and function of the light bar, certain maintenance practices are recommended:

• Cleaning: Use only water and a soft cloth to clean the outer body and lenses. Avoid using pressure washers, automatic car washes, or brushes that could scratch the equipment. Chemicals should also be avoided as they may damage the equipment.
• Daily Inspection: The product should be inspected and tested daily to ensure it operates properly and is mounted correctly.
• Lens Replacement: Yellowing of clear lenses may occur over time. Replacement lenses can be purchased by contacting STL Customer Service.
• Wiring and Connections: Ensure all wiring, power supplies, and switch boxes are free from interference. Avoid cutting wires or working on the unit while it is connected to a power source.

Failure to follow safety precautions, warnings, notices, and instructions could result in damage to the product or vehicle, void the warranty, or cause serious injury.
