Overview

This document describes the SPORTSPOWER 8FT TRAMPOLINE AND CLASSIC ENCLOSURE WITH MINI FLASH LITEZONE, providing assembly, installation, care, maintenance, and use instructions.

Function Description:

The Sportspower trampoline is designed to provide fun and exercise in a backyard setting. It is a rebounding device that propels users to various heights, allowing for a variety of body movements and basic trampoline skills. The included classic enclosure is intended to reduce the risk of injury from falling off the trampoline, and the Mini Flash LiteZone is an accessory that flashes a bright light on every bounce to help guide the user to the center of the mat. The product is intended for household and family domestic use only and is not suitable for schools, playgrounds, rental, or commercial use.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Size: 8FT Trampoline
  • Maximum User Weight: 165 lbs / 75 kg
  • Springs: 48 springs
  • Flash LiteZone Power: Requires two AA (1.5V) batteries (not included).
  • Recommended Age: Not recommended for children under 6 years of age.
  • Overhead Clearance: A minimum of 24 ft (7.3 meters) from ground level is recommended.
  • Frame Material: Steel tubing parts.
  • Enclosure Netting Material: UV resistant material.

Usage Features:

  • Single User Only: The trampoline is designed for only one user at a time to prevent loss of control, collision, or falls, which can lead to serious injury.
  • Adult Supervision: Constant adult supervision is required, regardless of the user's skill level or age. The supervisor must be knowledgeable and mature, enforcing all safety rules and warnings.
  • Flat and Level Surface: Essential for installation to prevent frame movement, stress on joints, and potential injury. Suitable surfaces include flat dirt or grass, sand, or play areas covered with appropriate depth of play bark material. Hard surfaces like concrete, tarmac, or paving are not suitable.
  • Clearance: Maintain clear space on all sides, above, and below the trampoline, free from hazardous objects such as walls, fences, tree limbs, electrical wiring, rocks, sprinkler heads, swing sets, or swimming pools.
  • Flash LiteZone: An accessory installed underneath the mat that flashes a bright light with every bounce, guiding the user to the center of the mat. It should be removed and stored in a dry place when not in use, and switched off to preserve battery life.
  • Enclosure Use: The enclosure netting must be properly installed and closed (zipper and buckles) during use to prevent users from falling off. It should also be closed during periods of non-use to restrict unauthorized access. Users should only enter and exit through the zipper door.
  • Mounting and Dismounting: Users should climb onto the trampoline by placing hands on the frame and stepping or rolling up onto the frame, across the springs, and onto the mat. To dismount, jumpers should walk to the side of the mat, bend over, place hands on the frame, then step from the mat to the ground. Jumping directly on or off the trampoline is dangerous.
  • Controlled Bouncing: Users should start and maintain their jump at the center of the mat, avoid bouncing too high, and stay low until they can control their bounce and land consistently in the middle. Braking (flexing knees upon landing) should be learned early.
  • Clothing and Accessories: Users should wear clothing free of drawstrings, hooks, or loops that could cause entanglement. Footwear (shoes) should not be worn. Long hair should be tied back. Sharp or pointed objects, jewelry, watches, rings, eyewear, and necklaces should be removed before use to prevent tearing the mat or netting, or getting caught.
  • Weather Conditions: Do not use in windy conditions or if the surface is wet, as this can cause loss of control and serious injury. The trampoline should be disassembled and stored away safely during very strong winds. Damage from wind or severe weather is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Site-specific anchoring through a licensed local contractor is strongly advised.
  • Health Restrictions: Do not use if under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or medication. Consult a physician before any physical activity, especially if you have high blood pressure, a medical history of neck or back injuries, broken bones, or if pregnant.
  • No Somersaults/Flips: Explicitly warned against, as landing on the head or neck can cause serious injury, paralysis, or death.
  • No Springboard Use: Do not use the trampoline as a springboard to jump onto other objects.
  • No Toys/Objects: Do not bring toys or other items onto the trampoline.

Maintenance Features:

  • Daily Pre-Inspection: Before each use, inspect the trampoline for:
    • Proper attachment or cracks in the legs.
    • Tears and sagging in the netting.
    • Loose or damaged springs.
    • Tears or worn stitching in the mat.
    • Sagging or cracks in the frame.
    • Ensure legs are stable, no loose springs, and mat/enclosure net are in good condition.
  • Frame Pad Inspection: Inspect the frame pad before each use to ensure all exposed metal parts (frame and springs) are fully covered. Replace if damaged.
  • Enclosure Netting Inspection:
    • 1 to 3 Months: Inspect the enclosure (net, net hanger, and straps) prior to every use.
    • 3 to 6 Months: Thorough inspection for UV damage and prior to every use for net, net hanger, and straps.
    • 6 to 12 Months: Thorough inspection before every use on net, net hanger, straps, zippers, ties, and strings. Replace after 12 months or earlier if necessary.
    • Yearly Replacement: It is recommended that the net be replaced on a yearly basis under normal use, even without visible signs of damage.
    • UV Damage Check: Pinch and pull a section of the netting downward. If it tears, cracks, or rips, the net is unsafe and must be replaced immediately.
  • Spring Inspection: Do not use if springs are stretched or damaged. Order original Sportspower replacement parts.
  • Storage: Store the trampoline and enclosure away during harsh weather (extreme wind, heat, freezing temperatures). Secure from unauthorized use when not in use.
  • Moving the Trampoline: It is recommended to disassemble and reassemble in a new location. If moving a short distance, tape all leg joints with duct tape or heavy industry tape. Two or more people are required to lift the trampoline; do not drag it. Keep it steady and horizontal during the move.
  • Rust Prevention: In areas with high salt and moisture, painting the frame and springs with a rust-resistant clear coat paint is recommended.
  • Replacement Parts: Only genuine Sportspower replacement parts should be used. Unauthorized parts may damage the product, void the warranty, and compromise safety.
  • Assembly Tools: Protective gloves and goggles must be worn during assembly to prevent injuries from pinch points and eye injuries. Do not use electric power tools to tighten or loosen bolts and screws.
  • Disassembly: Follow assembly instructions in reverse. Retain all parts and original packaging. Do not disassemble frame components until all springs and the mat are removed.
