Overview

This document describes the Combi and Combi Zoom series of professional lighting fixtures manufactured by Spotlight s.r.l. These fixtures are designed for performing arts applications.

Combi Series (Models 05-12-25)

The Combi series includes models COM 05 PC, COM 05 F, COM 12 PC, COM 12 F, COM 25 PC, and COM 25 F. These are projector-type luminaires.

Function Description

The Combi series luminaires are designed to provide illumination for various performing arts settings. They feature a robust construction and offer different beam characteristics (PC for Plano-Convex and F for Fresnel) depending on the model. The fixtures allow for adjustment of the light beam and lamp position to achieve desired lighting effects.

Important Technical Specifications

The luminaires are designed to operate with a 220V to 240V supply, 50-60Hz. They comply with European Directives 2006/95/CE, 2004/108/CE, and 2011/65/EU.

Key technical specifications include:

  • Maximum supply voltage (V): 240V
  • Maximum lamp wattage (W): Varies by model and lamp type (e.g., 300W, 500W, 650W, 1000W, 1200W, 2000W, 2500W).
  • Protection index (IP): IP20 (for indoor use only, protected from dampness and rain).
  • Maximum allowed ambient temperature (°C): 40°C.
  • Maximum temperature of the body (°C): 190°C.
  • Minimum distance from flammable surfaces: 0° (when the tip of the arrow points upwards).
  • Maximum tilt angle range: These limits, imposed by the lamp manufacturer, should not be exceeded as they would reduce the luminaire's useful life or lead to its deterioration.
  • Cable: The power cable conforms to CEI regulations 20-22.
  • Fuses: There are no internal fuses; if necessary, they should be installed in the mains.
  • Dimmer compatibility: This model can be connected to a dimmer.

Lamp Types: The Combi series supports various lamp types, including:

  • GY 9,5 (LC 46,5): 300W (M 38, CP 81), 500W (M 40, T 18, CP 82), 650W (T 26, CP 89).
  • GX 9,5 (LC 55): 1000W (T 19, CP 70, CP 63).
  • GX 9,5 (LC 67): 1200W (T 29, CP 90).
  • G 22 (LC 75): 2000W (CP 75, CP 92).
  • G 22 (LC 90): 2500W (CP 91).
  • GY 16 (on request): 2000W (CP 72).

Usage Features

  • Installation: The luminaire can be either suspended or mounted on a stand. It should not be installed close to, or in contact with, flammable surfaces. A minimum distance to which the luminaire must be kept from easily inflammable surfaces is indicated on the label. Safety norms require a metal wire screen to be mounted on the front of the luminaire to prevent any large glass fragments from falling if the projector breaks. Always connect the safety cable, if required by local health and safety regulations.
  • Lamp Insertion and Change: Always disconnect from the mains supply prior to opening the units to change the lamp. Open the luminaire lid by means of knob (3). Insert the lamp into the socket, taking care not to touch the glass, and reposition the lid. For a 1000W lamp (with a lower centre of light), instead of the 1200W lamp, the pan fitted with the lamp holder must be shifted from the low (B) position to the high position (A). Re-position the spring at the end of the operation.
  • Switching On and Focusing: Using the side handle (5), it is possible to loosen the projector when it is locked in a certain position and thus change its inclination. You can rotate the luminaire on the vertical axis by rotating it on its hook clamp. By turning knob (8), the lamp carriage is shifted forward or backward to widen or narrow the beam of light respectively.
  • Cleaning: For maximum projector performance, keep the lens and the mirror as clean as possible using a dampened cloth with alcohol.

Maintenance Features

  • General Maintenance: At least once a year, the luminaire should be serviced to ensure the integrity of the electrical and mechanical components.
  • Recycling: The product must be recycled or disposed of, according to Directive 2002/96/CE.

Combi Zoom Series (Models 05-12-25)

The Combi Zoom series includes models COM 05 ZS, COM 05 ZW, COM 12 ZS, COM 12 ZW, COM 25 ZM, and COM 25 ZW. These are zoom projector-type luminaires.

Function Description

The Combi Zoom series luminaires are designed to provide variable beam illumination for performing arts. They feature a zoom mechanism that allows for adjustment of the beam angle, offering flexibility in lighting design. The fixtures are robust and allow for precise control of light output.

Important Technical Specifications

The luminaires are designed to operate with a 220V to 240V supply, 50-60Hz. They comply with European Directives 2006/95/CE, 2004/108/CE, and 2011/65/EU.

Lamp Types: The Combi Zoom series supports various lamp types, including:

  • GY 9,5 (LC 46,5): 300W (M 38, CP 81), 500W (M 40, T 18, CP 82), 650W (T 26, CP 89).

  • G 22 (LC 90): 2500W (CP 91).
  • GY 16 (on request): 2000W (CP 72).

Usage Features

  • Installation: The luminaire is designed for professional use only. Do not install the luminaire close to, or in contact with, flammable surfaces. Read carefully the information label on the side of the luminaire.
  • Lamp Insertion and Change: For safety reasons, always disconnect from the mains supply prior to opening the units to change the lamp. Always connect the units to mains protected by a suitable electric fuse according to the instructions indicated by the manufacturer of the lamp you are using. Open the luminaire top cover by acting on its knob (6). Remove the old bulb first. Insert the new lamp into the socket, taking care not to touch the quartz bulb. After replacing the light bulb, a fine centering may be necessary because of filament position tolerance. For which one should turn slowly the 2 screws (11) to carry out lateral centering of the light. Move the knobs (8) or (9) for uniform distribution or the brightest beam of light. If the light bulb should have a diverse "LCL" distance (e.g. 1000 and 1200W), loosen or tighten, by the same number of turns of the knob (8) and the screws (11) till the different heights of the light bulbs are compensated for.
  • Switching On and Focusing: Using the handle on the side (5), it is possible to loosen the luminaire when it is locked in a certain position and thus change its inclination. You can rotate the luminaire on the vertical axis by rotating it on its hook clamp. The zoom is adjusted with knob (7), by widening or narrowing the beam of light. The beam of light can be cut by the four shutters (3) to obtain special shapes. You can insert into the slots (4) an iris diaphragm, or a gobo mounted in its holder. When the unit is switched on for the first time, they may be a slight smoke emission; this is normal and it is only due to paint heating nearer the lamp.
  • Cleaning: For the best results, it is important to ensure that both the lens and the reflector are kept clean. To do so, after disconnecting the unit from the mains, open covers (6) and (10) and clean these parts using a soft cloth dampened with alcohol.

Maintenance Features

  • General Maintenance: At least once a year, the luminaire should be serviced to ensure the integrity of the electrical and mechanical components.
  • Recycling: The product must be recycled or disposed of, according to Directive 2002/96/CE.
