ECB, EDB, EGB, and EJB Circuit Breaker Installation and Removal
ECB, EDB, EGB, and EJB Circuit Breaker Installation
Refer to Figure 5, ECB, EDB, EGB, and EJB Circuit Breaker Installation
and Removal, on page 17, for the following instructions.
NOTE: Ensure the total loading of the lighting section does not
exceed the maximum calculated load rating, in accordance with
NEC Article 220. The load rating shown is on the section label located
above each lighting section.
1. Turn OFF all power to the I-Line Combo switchboard.
2. Turn the circuit breaker OFF.
3. Remove the large interior trim cover and the lighting section interior
trim cover (Figure 2, Interior Trim Removal, on page 12).
4. With the bolt-on connector end of the circuit breaker slightly elevated,
insert the mounting foot into the slot in the phase cover.
5. Rotate the circuit breaker down and back until the captive screw(s)
aligns with the tapped hole(s) in the circuit breaker connector.
6. Align the screw(s) into the branch connector hole and tighten it to the
values specified on the wiring and torque label applied to the rear of
the larger interior trim cover.
7. Install the load wire.
HAZARD OF ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPLOSION, OR ARC FLASH
• Apply appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe
electrical work practices. See NFPA70E, CSA Z462 or
NOM-029-STPS.
• This equipment must only be installed and serviced by qualified
electrical personnel.
• Turn off all power supplying this equipment before working on or
inside equipment.
• Always use a properly rated voltage sensing device to confirm that all
power is off.
• All unused spaces must be filled with blank fillers.
• Replace all devices, doors, and covers before turning on power to
this equipment.
Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious
injury.
