Why is my STA-RITE JWPA5E7L Swimming Pool Pump not pumping or has reduced capacity?
    • O
      ortizteresaAug 8, 2025
Your STA-RITE Swimming Pool Pump may fail to pump or have reduced capacity due to several reasons. First, the pump might need priming; ensure the pump volute and trap are full of water. Second, check for leaks in the suction piping. Also, the suction pipe inlet should be well below the water level to prevent the pump from sucking air. If the suction trap gasket is defective, replace it. A suction lift of 3 to 4 feet can reduce performance, and more than 4 feet can prevent pumping. Move the pump closer to the water source and ensure the suction pipe is large enough.

What to do if my STA-RITE JWPA5E7L circuit breaker trips repeatedly?
    • W
      Whitney JacksonAug 14, 2025
If the circuit breaker for your STA-RITE Swimming Pool Pump trips repeatedly, ensure the breaker has adequate capacity. If it is a GFCI breaker, test it according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Also, make sure no other lights or appliances are on the same circuit.

How to troubleshoot electrical issues with my STA-RITE JWPA5E7L Swimming Pool Pump?
    • C
      Carol PrestonAug 20, 2025
To troubleshoot electrical issues with your STA-RITE Swimming Pool Pump, start by checking the voltage at the motor terminals and at the meter while the pump is running. Low voltage may require adjustments to the wiring. If the pump is too hot, check the line voltage; if it's less than 90% or more than 110% of the rated voltage, consult a licensed electrician. Ensure adequate ventilation, reduce ambient temperature, and tighten any loose wiring connections. If the motor's internal thermal overload protector is open and the motor runs too hot, turn off the power and check for proper voltage and impeller issues.

How to fix inadequate circulation in STA-RITE JWPA5E7L?
    • A
      Ann ArellanoAug 27, 2025
To fix inadequate circulation or jet action in your STA-RITE Swimming Pool Pump, check for blocked fittings, which can cause poor flow. Inspect the trap basket and skimmer basket, cleaning them if plugged. Ensure that gate valves are fully open. Note that suction/discharge piping that is too small can cause this issue. Also, check and clean the pool filter.

How to resolve mechanical troubles and noise in STA-RITE JWPA5E7L Swimming Pool Pump?
    • E
      Eileen BarkerSep 1, 2025
To address mechanical troubles and noise in your STA-RITE Swimming Pool Pump: * Ensure suction and discharge piping are adequately supported to prevent strain on the pump assembly. * Mount the pump securely on a concrete platform, avoiding wooden platforms. * Repair any air leaks in the suction line and tighten the trap lid if bubbles are present in the water returning to the pool. * Remove any foreign matter from the pump impeller. Cavitation can also cause noise; improve suction conditions by increasing pipe size, decreasing the number of fittings, increasing discharge pressure, or reducing flow by throttling the discharge gate valve.
