Your RV may contain either a tank type (storage) water heater or a tankless style. Make sure
you know which type you have in your RV. They are winterized dierently and allowing
antifreeze in the wrong type will damage it.
This method utilizes a blowout plug, an air compressor and an air hose to remove excess
water out of the water lines.
1. Water heater power should be OFF (both ELECTRIC and GAS switches).
2. Set water heater bypass valves to . Refer to the appropriate water heater
bypass diagram for your model.
3. There are two valves, a fresh water tank shuto and a siphon valve, located next to the
water pump (). Both valves should be turned OFF.

5. Level the RV and drain the fresh water tank, water
heater and hot and cold water lines. Open all low
point drains and fresh water tank drain. Faucets
inside the RV need to be opened also to relieve
pressure and allow lines to drain. Refer to Drain-
ing the Fresh Water System section.
6. Remove the drain plug from the water heater (refer
to arrow).
The tank type (storage) water heater must be drained to
prevent damage from freezing. It is recommended the tank type (stor-
age) water heater be drained and bypassed during the winterization
process particularly if introducing RV antifreeze into the plumbing
system.
Antifreeze should be kept out of a tank type (storage)
water heater.
Appliances (refrigerator, dishwasher or clothes washer)
must be winterized. Refer to the appliance owner’s manual for
possible additional information or contact your Dealer or Customer
Service for assistance.
