7. Run the water pump until it is dry (approximately 15 to 20 seconds). Operating the
pump longer than that with no water in it can damage the pump.
8. Open all faucets in the RV. If there is an outside shower, attach the shower
hose to the shower (remove the sprayer nozzle), and open the shower fau-
cets. If equipped with an outside kitchen open those faucets as well.
9. Attach a blowout plug to the city water inlet (on utility center). Attach the
air hose to the blowout plug. Set compressor to  Set the

10. Open the fresh water tank drain. Blow air into the water lines for 30 to 60 seconds to
clear out the water tank. Do not blow air into the tank any longer than 60 seconds to
avoid pressurizing the water tank and damaging ttings.
11. Open all xtures and drains in the RV to allow air to escape the water lines. Set the
CITY / TANK FILL valve on the utility center panel to the  position and blow air

12. Finish blowing air into the water lines to evacuate all water from the lines. This can
take 5 to 10 minutes.
13. Winterize appliances (if applicable).
14. Pour one cup of RV antifreeze in all the drain P-traps (sinks and bathtub).
15. After RV water lines and appliance water lines have been blown out, remove the air
hose and the blowout plug from the utility center.

If the recreation vehicle is going to be stored in a non-temperature controlled
environment with a risk of temperatures reaching 32°F (0°C) or lower, the air
pressure method is not adequate, winterizing with RV antifreeze must be used
in the plumbing system. Repairs due to freezing are not covered under the
