Tips
• Smaller foods usually require a slightly shorter preparation time than larger foods.
• Shaking smaller foods halfway through the preparation time optimizes the result and can
help obtain an evenly cooked batch.
• Add some oil to fresh potatoes for a crispy result. Fry your ingredients in the air fryer right
after marinating them.
• DO NOT prepare extremely runny or greasy ingredients such as sausages or bacon in the air fryer.
• The optimal amount of air fried French fries for a crispy and tender texture is 600g or 1.32lb.
• When baking, premade dough requires a shorter preparation time than homemade dough.
• Place a baking tin or oven dish in the air fryer basket for baking a cake or quiche or if you
want to fry fragile or stued foods.
• You can also use the air fryer to reheat cooked foods. To reheat, set the temperature to
300
°
F
/
148
°
C for up to 10 minutes.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Cleaning
Clean the appliance after each use.
DO NOT use metal kitchen utensils or abrasive cleaning materials to clean them, as this may
damage the non-stick coating.
1. Remove the main plug from the wall outlet and let the appliance cool down.
Note: Remove the COOKING TRAY* to let the unit cool down more quickly.
2. Wipe the outside of the appliance with a soft damp cloth.
3. Clean the COOKING TRAY* and FOOD BASKET* in hot soapy water with a non-abrasive sponge.
Note: You can also put the COOKING TRAY* in the dishwasher.
Tip: If dirt is stuck to the FOOD BASKET*, fill it with hot soapy water, put the COOKING TRAY*
in the FOOD BASKET* and let the COOKING TRAY* and FOOD BASKET* soak for approximately
10 minutes.
4. Once the appliance has cooled down, clean the heating element with a non-abrasive
cleaning brush to remove any food residues.
Maintenance
• Store the appliance in a cool, dry place.
• NEVER cut anything in the FOOD BASKET* or COOKING TRAY* or use utensils with sharp
edges as to avoid piercing the non-stick surface.
• NEVER put cold water into a COOKING TRAY* or FOOD BASKET*. Sudden changes of
temperature may cause metal to warp, resulting in an uneven bottom. Let pieces cool down
on their own or place in lukewarm soapy water.
• ALWAYS use trivets or oven mitts when handling the COOKING TRAY* and FOOD BASKET*.
• DO NOT place the COOKING TRAY* or FOOD BASKET* on a countertop, as it will stain or burn
the countertop. Use a protective trivet.
• DO NOT place unit or pieces on any range top burner, under a broiler, microwave browning
element, or in a heated oven.
• DO NOT use scouring pads, abrasive cleaners, or any object that will scratch the unit or accessories.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Problem Possible cause Solution
The air fryer does
not work
The appliance is not plugged in. Put the main plug in a polarized wall outlet.
The FOOD BASKET* is not
completely pushed in.
Push the FOOD BASKET* in the air fryer
completely until you hear a locking click.
Food is
undercooked
The amount of food in the
FOOD BASKET* is too large.
Put smaller batches of food in the FOOD
BASKET*. Smaller batches are fried more
evenly.
The set temperature is too low.
Set the temperature to the required
temperature setting.
See the COOKING CHART under TO USE.
The preparation time is
too short.
Set the timer to the required preparation time.
See the COOKING CHART under TO USE.
Food is unevenly
cooked
Certain types of foods need to
be shaken halfway through the
preparation time.
Foods that lie on top of or across each
other (e.g. fries) need to be shaken halfway
through the preparation time. See the
COOKING CHART under TO USE.
Fried food
DO NOT come
out crispy
You used a type of food meant
to be prepared in a traditional
deep fryer.
Use oven-friendly foods or lightly brush
some oil onto the food for a crispier result.
White smoke
comes out of
the appliance
You are preparing runny
or greasy foods.
When you fry greasy foods in the air fryer,
a large amount of oil will leak into the outer
pot. The oil produces white smoke and the
outer pot may heat up more than usual.
However, this does not aect the appliance
or the end result.
The outer pot still contains grease
residues from previous use.
White smoke is caused by grease heating
up in the outer pot. Make sure you clean the
outer pot properly after each use. See the
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE section.
Fresh fries are
unevenly cooked
You did not use the right type
of potatoes.
Use fresh potatoes and make sure they are
firm before placing in the air fryer basket.
You did not rinse the potato
juliennes properly before you
fried them.
Rinse the potato juliennes properly to
remove starch from the outside surface.
Fresh fries
DO NOT come
out crispy
The crispiness of the fries
depends on the amount of
oil and water in the potato
juliennes.
Make sure you dry the potato juliennes
properly before you add the oil.
Cut the potatoes into smaller juliennes for a
crispier result.
Add a little bit more oil to your juliennes for
a crispier result.
