use a wrench with a 3/8” square con-
nection only. Any other tool may dama-
ge the plug.
6. Remove the uid drain plug from the rear
axle (33:A).
7. Remove the 2 drain plugs (34) on the front
axle. Use a 12 mm tubular wrench. Allow the
uid in the front axle and pipes to drain out.
8. Open the bonnet and remove the plug (31:B)
on the transmission uid reservoir.
9. Let the uid run out into suitable containers.
10. Draw out the uid from the deepest part of
the reservoir using a uid extractor (35).
11. Check that the gaskets on the drain plugs
of the front axle are intact (34). Replace the
plugs. Tightening torque: 15-17 Nm.
12. Check that the gasket on the drain plug of
the rear axle is intact (33:A). Replace the
plug in the rear axle. Tighten the drain plug to
a torque of 5 Nm.
The drain plug might get damaged if
it is tightened to a torque exceeding 5
Nm.
13. Dispose of the oil according to local regula-
tions
9.9.3
NOTE! The oil is drawn into the system
in a continuous manner until it remains
sure air is not drawn into the system
(something which must never be allo-
wed to happen).
1. Prepare a suitably large vessel full of fresh
uid.
2. Fill the uid reservoir with fresh uid. For the
quantities and type of uid required, please
see “0 TECHNICAL DATA TABLE”.
3. Check that the rear drive’s release lever is
disengaged, lever (17:A) out.
Place two wooden planks (4-5 cm thick)
in front of the rear wheels (so they are
touching the tyres)to make sure the
machine stays stationary during the fol-
lowing operations.
4. Release the parking brake.
Press the pedal (12:B) right down and then
release.
WARNING: the following operations
must be performed with the engine
bonnet open and the engine running.
Keep hands well away from moving
parts.
If the engine is run indoors, exhaust ex-
traction equipment must be connected
to the engine’s exhaust pipe.
5. Start the engine.
Never start the engine when the rear
axle clutch release lever is engaged
and the front axle clutch release lever
is disengaged. This could damage the
front axle gaskets.
6. Disengage the front axle’s clutch release
lever.
7. Set the accelerator pedal to the forward po-
sition, locking it using a wooden wedge (36).
Gradually pour uid into the reservoir and
make sure that the level is always between
the MIN and MAX mark.
8. Run in the forward position for one minute.
9. Move the wooden wedge and set the accele-
rator pedal to the reverse position. Continue
lling with oil.
10. Run in reverse mode for one minute.
11. Change driving direction every minute as in-
dicated above and continue lling with oil un-
til the bubbling in the reservoir stops.
12. Switch o the engine, replace the cover
(31:B) on the uid tank and close the bonnet.
13. Move the 2 levers (17:A, 17:B) for engaging
the transmission to the operating position (=
in).
14. Restart the engine.
15. Move the machine at various speeds for a
few minutes. At the same time turn the stee-
ring wheel completely several times.
16. Lift and lower the hydraulic accessories lifting
device 3 - 4 times.
17. Stop the machine and put the parking brake
back on.
18. Open the bonnet.
19. Check the level in the reservoir and top up if
necessary.
20. Once the operation has been completed, re-
place the uid cap and close the bonnet.
9.10 BELT TRANSMISSIONS CHECK
check that all belts are intact.
For the frequency of this intervention
see chapter 13.
