c)removetheinternalpaperlter(3)andthespongeexternalone(4);
d)check ifbothare tobeintegral/complete, cleanand perfectly working: on thecontrary,please
arrangetheirservicingorreplacement(pleasesee6.5);
e)reinsertthe2lters(3and4),thecover(1)andtightenthewholewiththenut(2).
5.1.3 Adding fuel
IMPORTANT Do not drip petrol onto the plastic parts of the motor or the machine to prevent damaging
them and remove all traces of spilt petrol immediately.

spill any fuel.
e)Tightenthellercap(1)backandcleananyspilledfuel.
5.1.4 Spark plug cap
Firmlyconnectthecablecap(1)tothespark
plug(2),makingsurethattherearenotracesof
debrisordirtinsidethecaporonthesparkplug
terminal.
5.2STARTINGTHEENGINE(cold)
Theengine starting shouldalwayshappenwith alltheequipment/accessoriesand featurestobe
disengaged(iftheyarepresentontheunit).Theforwardcontrol(ifitisshownontheunit)shouldbe
on “neutral” position.
-Bringsthethrottleleverhalfitsway.
-Arrangetheunitdrivingcontrolsasshownintheunit’sinstructionsmanual.
-Operatethestartercontrol(1)bringingtheleveronposition(3).
-Grabthestartingropehandle(4)andslowlypulluntilyoufeelaslightresistance,thengiveasharp
pull to the starting rope.
- When the engine is set in motion , loosen the rope.
-Afterafewminutesputthestarterlever(1)backonposition2.
NOTE If the engine is not immediately starting , repeat the procedures.
5.3STARTINGTHEENGINE(hotstarting)
-Performthesameprocedureasshowninparagraph5.2.,justavoidoperatingonthestartingcontrol
(1).
5.4 USE OF THE ENGINE IN OPERATION
Whenmowing,usetheengineatitsmaxrpmbymovingthethrottlecontrolto«FAST»position.
ATTENTION Keep your hands away from the silencer and surrounding areas that can become
extremelyhot.Withtheenginerunning,donotgetloose-ttingclothing(ties, scarves,etc.)orhair
closer to the top part of the engine.
IMPORTANTDonotoperateonover20°inclinestopreventmalfunctioningoftheengine.
5.5 STOPPING THE ENGINE
