Why is my Stihl AL 1 Battery Charger not charging my battery?
    • S
      Stephanie WallaceAug 6, 2025
There are several reasons why your Stihl battery might not be charging. It could be due to the battery being too hot or too cold; in this case, allow the battery to warm up or cool down gradually at ambient temperatures of about 50 °F to 68 °F (10 °C to 20 °C). Another reason could be no electrical contact between the charger and battery. To solve this, remove the battery and reinsert it into the charger. Finally, there may be a malfunction in either the charger or the battery. If you suspect a malfunction, do not use the charger or the battery and have them checked by an authorized STIHL servicing dealer.

      Matthew FarrellAug 15, 2025
If your Stihl Battery Charger isn't charging the battery, there might be a few reasons: * The battery could be too warm or too cold. If this is the case, leave the battery in the charger, and charging will begin automatically once it reaches the correct temperature. * There might be a poor electrical contact between the charger and battery. Try removing the battery, cleaning the contacts on the charger, and then reinserting the battery. * There could be a malfunction in the charger itself. If this is the case, stop using the charger and get in touch with your Stihl dealer. * The battery may be faulty. In this instance, discontinue use of the battery and seek advice from a Stihl dealer.
