The middle compartment is for fabric softener. It will be dispersed through the
washing during the last rinse cycle. Concentrated fabric softeners should be
diluted as required.
The compartment on the left is for low-sudsing detergent for the main wash.
If using a liquid detergent, make sure the dam board is in place (Fig. 17). For
powdered detergent, push the dam board back until it clicks into place on the
side (Fig. 18).
If you want to use bleach in your wash, it must be diluted according to the
instructions on the bottle. Never pour bleach directly onto the washing, as this
can cause stains or fading of coloured garments.
The compartment on the right is for prewash detergent. Add prewash detergent if
you have added a prewash cycle. See Table 1, below, for our recommendations.
