DOCUMENT CONVENTIONS
COMPUTER COMMANDS - EXTENDED AND ABREVIATED
To aid in introduction of the 6DS-SP software user interface, all procedures
in the Operator Functions chapter of the Operations manual are written in an
extended, detailed computer command format.
Computer commands in all other chapters of the 6DS-SP Operations and
Maintenance manuals are presented in an abbreviated form for the
convenience of the experienced user.
AT THE KEYBOARD
For commands entered at the keyboard, the 6DS-SP manuals are
designed, as much as possible, in a two-column format with commands to be
entered or typed displayed in bold type in the left column.
Example:
You Press, Type or Select Explanation/Screen Display
1. dir <Enter> Type "dir" and press the Enter
key to confirm.
Characters in lower case
displayed in angled brackets
("<", ">") represent a single key on the keyboard.
Example: <Enter> is the symbol used for the Enter key
in directions shown in this manual.
Type a "." (decimal point) on the PC keyboard by using the decimal on
the numeric keypad.
Type a "." (decimal point) on the bezel keyboard by using the decimal
point key on the numeric keypad.
