Strasbaugh Troubleshooting
Version 4.0 - February 1998 5 - 31
ERROR MESSAGES AND ALARMS
Error Messages
All error messages except Elevator Section Operator Door Open and Polish
Section Operator Door Open are accompanied by alarm sounds.
The control computer displays one error message at a time; if multiple
problems exist (typically unlikely), correct the one indicated by the first
message. The next message will then appear. After that problem is
resolved, the error message for the second problem will be displayed.
Alarms
During an auto cycle, whenever the controller senses a machine parameter
out of range of the set limits (either above the programmed high limit or
below the programmed low limit set at the Alarm Parameters Menu), the
alarm on the control panel will sound until the parameter returns to within
the set limits OR the operator halts the cycle.
While the alarm sounds, an alarm message displays at the bottom of the Auto
Polish Cycle menu screen.
An alarm condition does not abort the machine cycle automatically.
The alarm is a warning device to the operator indicating a fault according to
programmed parameter values.
The Alarm Parameters Menu displays the current programmed upper (high
limit) and lower (low limit) alarm conditions in percentage of error for ten
machine functions.
For more information on the Alarm Parameters Menu, refer to the Machine
Setup chapter of the 6DS-SP Operations manual.
