DESCRIPTION
CONTROL COMPUTER
The control computer is an IBM Industrial PC personal computer equipped with
an AT-style motherboard (with an 80286, 80386 or 80486 microprocessor); 1
Megabyte of RAM configured as 575K conventional and 511K extended; a 1.44
Mb diskette drive; a 20 Mb, 40 Mb, or larger hard disk; and five or seven
expansions slots. The computer's operating system is Microsoft's MS-DOS 5.0
or later.
6DS-SP planarizers serial number 181 and later (12/13/96) are equipped with an
operator interface unit consisting of a flat panel display, vertically mounted
keypad, horizontally mounted standard keyboard, and control panel. The unit,
supported by a movable arm, may be located at either the front or left side of the
machine cabinet. Options available include dual front and side interfaces and a
mobile remote interface installed in a cabinet.
The control computer is physically located behind the lower left front service
door, at the front of the machine. Its power cord is plugged into the power
receptacle mounted to the right of the computer.
