Maintenance Model 6DS-SP Planarizer
6 - 6 Version 4.0 - February 1998
INTERLOCKS
There are six interlock switches for the machine's seven service doors. Each
service door has its own switch except for the left electrical cabinet service door.
The interlock switch used is a double acting spring loaded switch. When the
service door is in place, the switch plunger is depressed, and the contact is
closed. When the door is out of position, the switch contact is open. The switch
contact can only be closed without the door present by pulling the switch plunger
forward until the spring is out of the plunger's detent and the switch contacts are
closed.
The six interlock switches and the Emergency Off pushbuttons (EMOs) are
wired together in series. The EMOs are normally closed, and the six interlock
switches are wired as normally open. Four or more EMOs are installed on the
machine, depending upon customer requirements.
For machines with the Mobile Remote Unit option (SA 219187), the following
CAUTION applies:
During the temporary thirty (30) second bypass of the Mobile Remote
E.M.O. circuit, the Mobile Remote Unit E.M.O. button WILL NOT BE
OPERABLE! However, all other machine E.M.O. buttons WILL
remain operable.
WARNING: Do not override safety interlocks. All procedures in the
6DS-SP Maintenance and Operations manuals are written
to be performed with the door interlocks closed while the
machine is in motion.
