SPINDLES
SPINDLE ALIGNMENT
Notes:
The procedure below is for the right spindle. Repeat for the left spindle,
making appropriate substitutions as shown in the text below.
The spindle alignment is accurate only when performed against a
properly aligned table. Be sure the table is correctly aligned BEFORE
beginning the procedure below.
A. BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Tools Required
• dial indicator accurate to 1/1000 in. and magnetic base
• clamp
• 3/16-in. hex key
• precision scale (accurate to .03125 in.)
• screwdriver
• mild solvent and soft cloth
