2. Install the OPTO22 AC28 (106764) card in PC Slot 4.
• Verify that the address jumpers are configured per Engineering
Drawing 217946EO, Rev. D or later.
3. Install the DCX-PC100 (104626) (for axes 5-12), properly populated
with DC servo modules, in PC Slot 5.
a. Verify the board address switch is set to 1.
b. Route the ribbon cable from each DC servo module through the
access hole for Slot 6.
PC-DOS AND CONFIGURATION SETUP
1. Apply power to the computer and verify that PC-DOS is installed.
a. If the PC won’t boot from the hard disk, insert Diskette 1 of the
PC-DOS installation diskettes set into Drive A and reboot the
computer.
Note: Either cycle the power or press the Ctrl-Alt-Del key
combination.
b. Follow the screen prompts to install PC-DOS. For further
information on installing PC-DOS, refer to the IBM PC DOS User’s
Guide.
2. For proper operation of the PC in the 6DS-SP environment, the power
management features of the IBM PC Model 7585 must be disabled and
the default configuration of LPT1 must be changed.
The setup for these functions is controlled in the Configuration Utility.
a. To access the Configuration Utility, the computer must be started
from a cold boot (cycle power).
b. During power up, when the Setup icon is displayed in the upper
right corner of the screen, press the F1 function key.
c. Use the Page Down key to display Page 4 of the Configuration
Utility. Use the Arrow keys to set the LPT1 Configuration to
“AT Compatible.”
