Operation of the Convertible Top
The m(>cilHlIically operated to p of t he Studebaker con-
vertible mo(ltol:'l is raise d and lowe red by an electric motor
and prC'1I1!II'j('ated driving arms and gears. Th e mechanism
is coni r~)lI(>d by a lever located at the left of the three control
handle'! aL the lower edge of the instrument panel on the
driver's side of the car. Moving the h-wr to the left raises
the toP. and to Ihe rig-hi . lowl'I'H IL. When th e lever is re-
leased
from l'iUIl~I' of th('fie positions, it automatically
returns to the central posit ion, stopping the elec tric motor.
Always let the motor operate the top - never try to
force
the top up or down by hll1ld.
