CRANKCASE OIL L EVEL The oil in t he crank case is
ch ecked by wi th draw in g t he oil level gage on t he left side'
of
the en gin e. The oil filler pi pe cap conta i ns a filtering
el em en t to clean the air of an y impur i ties bef o re it enters
th e cra nkc ase . This fil ter is ea sily cleaned by removing the
ca p, and i mmers ing it in keros en e. All ow fil te r cap to dry
thorou ghly. Th en dip c ap in a good grade of eng ine oil
so th
at fi lterin g ele ment is th or o ug hly oil co at ed. Dr ain off
excess oil and
repl ace cap. It' s a good idea to h ave th e oil
'level checked
when pu rc ha sing gaso line.
