under
totally different conditions from which
it
did in the fall
and
winter.
Because of th
is
it is i
mportant
tha
t careful seasonal

nditioning be given
you

r in
the
spring,
after
the colde
r,
slower
driving of wi
nter
,
and
again in
autumn
to
prepare for
the
lower t
em
peratures af
ter
six m
onths
of faster,
hotter
driving. Below
are

e minimum
number
of Items which we recommend be checked each spring
and
fall.

good oil of correct

Steering: Check wheel alignment (camber, toe-in, king

inclination).
Inspec

eering connections.
Generator: Check gener
ator

.
Battery:
Test
specific
grav
it
y of
battery
. Check
wate
r level.
Clean, tighten,
and
coat
terminals
wit
h p
etro
leum jelly.
Cylinder Hea
d:
Tighten
cyli
nder
h
ea
d balt\l
with
tension
wrench.
Lubrication: Lubric!l.te chassis (unless performed in last 1000
miles) including
any
periodic l
ubricat

on
requirements
due.
Fuel System: Clean fuel pump bowl
and
reset
carb
uretor
adjustment
if necessary.
Starter: Check efficiency for
proper
cur
r
ent
draw
from b
at
tery
.
SPRING
Cooling System:
Drain
and
reverse flush. Check thermostat.
Check condition of
radiator
hose
and
f
an
belt.
Re
fi
ll
cooling system
and
install
Rust
Inhibitor.
Crankcase: Clean inside of engine
cr~nkcase.
Cle

screen. Change engine oil.
Install
new
fil

r cartridge
if
not
recently changed.
