CYBERWALL™ INSTALLATION, OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
In the event of a fan failure, the controller will increase speed of the remaining active fans to the Max Speed
setting to compensate for the faulty fan. The fans will remain at this speed until the fan alarm condition has
been addressed.
The controller can allow the Building Management System (BMS) to write the fan speed value to the unit
through the communications port. When this is done there is a “BMS Keep Alive” binary point that needs to be
updated from the BMS every 120 seconds. If this value is lost, then the unit will operate the fans at either an
adjustable preset speed value or to Max Speed.
Static Pressure Control
The fans of an individual unit to be controlled based on a remote mounted static pressure sensor. The fan will
be controlled by PID and will modulate the fan speed based on the difference between the sensor value and
the setpoint. There are two user-selectable fan speed settings that can be adjusted to provide an operating
range for the fan speed – Min Speed and Max Speed.
If the BMS is monitoring the static pressure of the space, the controller can allow the BMS to write the fan
speed value to the unit through the communications port. When this is done there is a “BMS Keep Alive”
binary point that needs to be updated from the BMS every 120 seconds. If this value is lost, then the unit will
operate the fans at either an adjustable preset speed value or to Max Speed.
In the event of a fan failure, the controller will increase the fan speed to the remaining active fans to the “Max
Speed”, to compensate for the loss fan. The fans will remain at this speed until the fan alarm condition has
been addressed.
BMS Keep Alive Feature
The controller has a BMS Keep Alive feature that allows the BMS to send a fan speed command to the
controller. When enabled the BMS needs to write a command to the Binary Value every 120 seconds
(default) or the fan speed will go to a Preset Fan Speed. If the binary value is not update in the time frame,
the controller alarm and will assume that there is a loss of communication between the controller and the
BMS. If the BMS Keep Alive goes into alarm if the unit is commanded off by the BMS it will turn on and go into
operation until the BMS keep alive point is updated.
