Do you have a question about the Sub-Zero INTEGRATED WINE Series and is the answer not in the manual?

Overview

The Sub-Zero Integrated Wine (IW) Series is a line of advanced wine storage units designed to preserve and protect wine collections. These units incorporate sophisticated electronic control systems to monitor, regulate, and display various functions, ensuring optimal conditions for wine storage.

Function Description:

The IW series units are primarily designed for storing wine at precise temperatures, with some models offering additional storage for other refrigerated items. They feature multiple temperature zones, allowing for different types of wine to be stored at their ideal conditions. The electronic control system, managed by a Main Control Board (also referred to as the Main “Controller” Board), utilizes a microprocessor, relays, and triacs to control all appliance functions. A User Interface Module (UIM), or Control Panel, allows for manual input and displays information via an LCD (Liquid Crystal Display). This system monitors temperatures using thermistors (temperature sensors) and can display them in either Fahrenheit (°F) or Celsius (°C). The units also include various safety and convenience features such as door/drawer alarms, accent lighting, and a Sabbath mode.

Important Technical Specifications:

The IW series units operate on 115Vac, 60Hz, 1 Phase power. Key components include:

  • Compressors: Responsible for the refrigeration cycle.
  • Condenser: Dissipates heat from the refrigerant.
  • Evaporators: Absorb heat from the storage compartments.
  • Filter-Driers: Remove moisture and contaminants from the refrigerant.
  • Heat-exchangers: Facilitate heat transfer.
  • Tubing: Carries the Freon refrigerant (R134A).
  • Electronic Control System Components: Including the Main Control Board, microprocessor, relays, and triacs.
  • Fan & Light Switches: For controlling internal fans and lighting.
  • Fan Motors & Blades: Circulate air within the unit and across the condenser.
