What to do if my Sullivan-Palatek Air Compressor won't start?
    • D
      Daniel JonesAug 3, 2025
If your Sullivan-Palatek Air Compressor won't start, here are some possible causes and solutions: * The main disconnect might be open. In this case, close the switch. * Line fuse(s) might be blown. Replace the fuse(s). * The control circuit breaker could be tripped. Reset the circuit breaker. * The motor starter overload might be tripped. Reset it. If the problem continues, check the sizing and adjustment of the overload and ensure the motor starter contacts are functioning correctly. * There might be low incoming line voltage. Check the voltage, and if it's low, consult your power company. * There might be a unit lock-up. It could be filled with oil due to a leaking inlet valve (replace the inlet valve) or due to unit failure (replace the unit).

Why does my Sullivan-Palatek Air Compressor shut down with air demand present?
    • G
      greenjessicaAug 7, 2025
If your Sullivan-Palatek Air Compressor shuts down while there's still air demand, it could be due to several reasons: * Loss of control voltage: Reset the system. If the problem persists, ensure the line pressure does not exceed the operating pressure specified on the machine's nameplate. * Low incoming voltage: Consult your power company. * Excessive operating pressure: The separator may require maintenance. Check for fault signal H5. * Monitor temperature at the microprocessor: Check for proper ventilation. * Cooling air flow restricted: Clean the cooler and check for proper ventilation. * Ambient temperature too high: Provide sufficient ventilation. * Low lubricoolant level: Add lubricoolant.

What to do if Sullivan-Palatek 75UDG Air Compressor line pressure rises above cutout pressure?
    • M
      michael91Aug 11, 2025
If the line pressure of your Sullivan-Palatek Air Compressor rises above the cutout pressure, consider these potential causes and solutions: * A leak in the control system might be causing a loss of pressure signal. Replace the tubing or repair the leak. * The regulator might be improperly adjusted or defective. Readjust it or replace it if necessary. * The blowdown valve could be defective. Check that sump pressure is exhausted to the atmosphere when the pressure switch opens. Replace it if necessary. * The inlet valve might be faulty. Repair or replace it.

Why Sullivan-Palatek 75UDG will not build up full discharge pressure?
    • A
      Ann HunterAug 15, 2025
If your Sullivan-Palatek Air Compressor isn't building up to full discharge pressure, here are a few possible reasons: * Air demand is too great: Repair any air leaks in the system or add compressor capacity to meet the demand. * The air filter is dirty: Change or clean the filter element if needed. * The control pressure regulator is out of adjustment: Adjust the regulator. * The control regulator is defective: Check the diaphragm and replace it if necessary. * The blowdown valve is open: Repair or replace it. * The micro processor control setting is off: See 6.5 for adjustment procedure.

Why is my Sullivan-Palatek 75UDG using excessive lubricoolant?
    • J
      Jason GriffinAug 20, 2025
If your Sullivan-Palatek Air Compressor is consuming too much lubricoolant, consider the following: * A clogged oil return line: Clean the strainer and/or orifice. * A damaged or malfunctioning separator element: Change the separator. * A leak in the lubrication system: Check all pipes, connections, and components. * A defective inlet valve: Repair the inlet valve. * Operating pressure below 60 psig: Repair the minimum pressure valve.

What to do if Sullivan-Palatek 75UDG Air Compressor relief valve opens repeatedly?
    • L
      Lori Anderson DDSAug 25, 2025
If the relief valve on your Sullivan-Palatek Air Compressor opens repeatedly: * The pressure relief valve may be faulty. Replace it. * The control settings may be incorrect. Readjust as per 6.5.

What causes line pressure venting through blowdown on a Sullivan-Palatek Air Compressor?
    • S
      Stephanie HillAug 28, 2025
If you're experiencing line pressure venting through the blowdown on your Sullivan-Palatek Air Compressor, it could be due to a defective check valve portion of the Minimum Pressure/Check Valve. Repair or replace the check valve.
