Connect
Volt/Ohm lead clips
together
and ensure
that the test leads
and the
vacuum hose
are
not
connected to the
engine.
Switch
on the
tester with
the switches

2).
The tester
will
show
several
VDU
pages (see
chart
1on
page
10)
and
will
eventually show the
"program
se'lection
page".
If an error
occurs,
it will
be
displayed on
the VDU.
With switch
2
you
can switch off
the
pump,
the
pump
will
switch
it
self on
whenever it is required for measurements
(in
this
case
you
have
to wait until the flow
stabilizes).
CAUTION
Keep
the test
leads
away
from moving or
hot
engine
parts.
The test
Ieads
can
not
withstand high
temperatures or severe
mechanical
stress.
Make
sure
the
engine
to be
tested is
off and connect
the testleads
according
to the table on
page
51.
(see
also
the illustration on
the
front
of
the
tester.
Note: If the vehicle
does
not have
a
mag
probe,
or
the magnetic t'iming
option is not installed,
check
the timing with
the
timing light.
Clean the crankshaft
pulley
and
timing mark.
Use a
piece
of chalk
or
white
touch-up
paint
to identify the
pointer
on
the
pulley
and
the
zero line. Turn the
timing advance
knob
on the timing'light
fully
counter-clockw'ise
(off)
until
it
clicks.
Place the
onloff
button
in
the
off
position. (white
dot out).
