Why does espresso drip from my Sunbeam BARISTA MAX EM5300?
    • D
      darrell70Sep 4, 2025
If the espresso pours out in drips (over extracted) from your Sunbeam Coffee Maker, the coffee grinds may be too fine, so change to a coarser Grind Setting. Also, you might be using too many coffee grinds, so dose less coffee grinds, or the coffee grinds may be tamped too hard, so apply less force during tamping. Additionally, the Espresso Machine may have scale build up, requiring a Descaling Cycle.

How to get more foam from Sunbeam BARISTA MAX EM5300?
    • P
      pgarciaSep 18, 2025
If you are not getting enough foam when texturing with your Sunbeam Coffee Maker, make sure the milk being used is fresh and around 4°C. For best texturing results, use a chilled Stainless Steel Milk Jug. If the milk has been boiled, start again with fresh, chilled milk, and heat until the Milk Jug can only be held for approximately 3 seconds, around 60-65°C. Ensure the Steam Wand Tip is positioned correctly when texturing and tap the Jug on the benchtop when finished to release trapped air bubbles. Keep the Steam Wand Tip just under the surface of the milk to introduce air and create microfoam.

Why is the coffee cake wet in my Sunbeam Coffee Maker?
    • J
      Jasmine FoxSep 14, 2025
If the spent (used) coffee cake is wet in your Sunbeam Coffee Maker, a little water will remain on top of the used coffee cake; rest the Group Handle on the Drip Tray for 5 seconds to allow the water to dissipate before disposing of the cake. You might also be using too many coffee grinds, so dose less coffee grinds. Dual Wall Filter Baskets will keep the coffee cake wetter than Single Wall Filter Baskets.

    • M
      Matthew PriceSep 12, 2025

How to fix cold espresso from Sunbeam BARISTA MAX EM5300?
    • R
      Robert JonesSep 9, 2025
If the espresso is too cold from your Sunbeam Coffee Maker, avoid storing coffee beans in the fridge or freezer; instead, store them in a dry, airtight container in a cool, dark cupboard. If you are using a custom extraction temperature, use the default 92°C extraction temperature. Also, pre-warm your cup or glass by pouring hot water from the Steam Wand into it before extracting espresso. Finally, warm the Group Head or Handle before use by holding the Group Handle under the Group Head and pressing the ONE CUP BUTTON to allow water to run through.

How to get more crema from my Sunbeam Coffee Maker?
    • M
      Mary MartinSep 7, 2025
If the espresso does not have any crema, or the crema is thin (under extracted) when using your Sunbeam Coffee Maker, it could be because the coffee beans are old or dry; use freshly roasted coffee beans. The coffee grinds may also be too coarse, so change to a finer Grind Setting, or you might not be using enough coffee grinds, so dose more coffee grinds. Additionally, the grinds may not be tamped (compacted) enough, so tamp more firmly.

Why is my Sunbeam Coffee Maker pump making noise?
    • N
      Nicole WigginsSep 5, 2025
If the pump makes an unusual noise in your Sunbeam Coffee Maker, ensure there is water in the reservoir. If empty, fill the reservoir with water, let the machine return to the READY state if it is cooling down after steam, and prime water through the Group Head by pressing the ONE CUP BUTTON. Also, check that the Water Reservoir is correctly positioned and inserted into the back of the unit. Make sure the red packaging plug is removed from the base of the Water Reservoir.

Why is there water leaking from my Sunbeam BARISTA MAX EM5300 Coffee Maker?
    • M
      Mark WilliamsAug 21, 2025
If there is water around the Drip Tray area or on the benchtop with your Sunbeam Coffee Maker, it could be due to water overflowing from the Drip Tray; empty it if the red Water Level Indicator appears through the Drip Tray Stainless Steel Grill. Also, ensure the Drip Tray is in place when the Thermoblock is auto purging, as water purges into the Drip Tray when cooling to espresso temperature and the STEAM LIGHT flashes.
