  If there is water around the Drip Tray area or on the benchtop with your Sunbeam Coffee Maker, it could be due to water overflowing from the Drip Tray; empty it if the red Water Level Indicator appears through the Drip Tray Stainless Steel Grill. Also, ensure the Drip Tray is in place when the Thermoblock is auto purging, as water purges into the Drip Tray when cooling to espresso temperature and the STEAM LIGHT flashes.

  If the Group Handle is tight to turn in the Group Head of your Sunbeam Coffee Maker, it could be because the Group Head Silicone Seal is new and needs bedding in; keep using the machine, as the Seal will bed in during the first few uses and become easier to turn. Alternatively, you might be using too many coffee grinds; try dosing less coffee grinds.

  If there is no steam from the Steam Wand of your Sunbeam Coffee Maker, check if the Steam Wand Tip is blocked. Also, ensure there is water in the Water Reservoir and run hot water through the Steam Wand to ensure water flows. Additionally, the Espresso Machine may have scale build up, requiring a Descaling Cycle.

Why does espresso squirt out the side of my Sunbeam Coffee Maker?

  If the espresso squirts or trickles down the side of the Group Head during extraction with your Sunbeam Coffee Maker, it could be due to several reasons. The coffee grind may be too fine, requiring a change to a coarser grind setting. You might be using too many coffee grinds, so reduce the amount. Tamping the coffee grinds too hard can also cause this, so apply less force. Ensure the top edge of the Filter Basket is clean of loose coffee grinds. Also, the Group Head inside rim, Silicon Seal, or Shower Head might be dirty, requiring cleaning with a Cleaning Brush and damp cloth. Lastly, the Group Head Silicone Seal could be damaged or worn.

  If no espresso pours from your Sunbeam Coffee Maker, first, ensure the Water Reservoir is filled. If it is empty, fill it with water and prime the water through the Group Head by pressing the ONE CUP BUTTON. If the reservoir is full, the coffee grind may be too fine, so change to a coarser Grind Setting, or you might be using too many coffee grinds, so dose less. Tamping the coffee grinds too hard can also cause this, so apply less force during tamping. Additionally, check if a custom shot volume is being used and reset to the default shot volumes if necessary. The Filter Basket might also be blocked. The Group Head could be dirty, requiring a Cleaning Cycle, or blocked, requiring a Descaling Cycle.

  If your espresso tastes bitter when using your Sunbeam Coffee Maker, try using different brands of coffee beans. If you are using a custom extraction temperature, revert to the default 92°C extraction temperature. Also, if the steam function has been used just before extracting espresso, allow time for water to purge the Thermoblock and cool down before extracting espresso; the STEAM LIGHT should have finished flashing.

  If the Group Handle is loose or comes off during espresso extraction with your Sunbeam Coffee Maker, ensure all three tabs of the Group Handle are fully inserted into the Group Head and rotated to the centre position. Also, make sure a Filter Basket is inserted into the Group Handle before using it in the Group Head.

  If the espresso pours out in drips (over extracted) from your Sunbeam Coffee Maker, the coffee grinds may be too fine, so change to a coarser Grind Setting. Also, you might be using too many coffee grinds, so dose less coffee grinds, or the coffee grinds may be tamped too hard, so apply less force during tamping. Additionally, the Espresso Machine may have scale build up, requiring a Descaling Cycle.

Why is my Sunbeam Coffee Maker pump making noise?

  If the pump makes an unusual noise in your Sunbeam Coffee Maker, ensure there is water in the reservoir. If empty, fill the reservoir with water, let the machine return to the READY state if it is cooling down after steam, and prime water through the Group Head by pressing the ONE CUP BUTTON. Also, check that the Water Reservoir is correctly positioned and inserted into the back of the unit. Make sure the red packaging plug is removed from the base of the Water Reservoir.
